Precor TRM 223 Energy Series Treadmill

I love this treadmill. The functions are easy to use and super quiet.

Good value for the investment

This is one of the more complex treadmills to assemble. The installation contractor would not confirm an assembly date. I got little assistance from Amazon, so I ended up returning the unit. It's too bad Amazon doesn't want to help out much with the assembly of the Precor treadmill.

Have used similar models at health clubs so this model was everything we expected. We have used ours at least 3 times a week all winter, whenever the weather prevents a real outdoor run or drive to the gym. Unit is sturdy, well built, and not too loud even with a 2nd floor home install. No wobbles, no squeaks. It is heavy, so plan a self-install accordingly. The heart rate sensor is almost useless if you are running and somewhat inaccurate when jogging.If you are already an active exerciser, you will appreciate being able to roll out of bed in the morning and run while watching TV without all the usual pre-gym or pre-outdoor run preparation. If you are a couch potato this machine may not be enough to get you off the couch :)

Disappointed in the heart rate monitor on handles - very erratic. Also, the control panel is an antiquated type with big dots... Thought that in 2015 the status screen might be a bit easier to read, not something that looks like it is out of the 1980's. It walks OK.

My husband works in another city and has an apartment/townhouse there. He likes to jog to stay somewhat in shape (he isn't what you'd call a fitness nut) but just enough that he doesn't put on too much weight. I think mostly it is because he is cheap and doesn't want to buy new clothes! ha ha!! Whatever works, though, right!? So when he moved there, he ended up running around the neighborhood, which he really doesn't like as much as a treadmill. There is a law school right near us and he said he didn't want to seem like some creepy old guy in sweatpants jogging/walking around the campus everyday. I doubt that would have been the reaction, he isn't that creepy looking (ha ha!) But I do feel safter that he isn't on roads in the dark (it gets dark very early in the winter) or him being out when it is too cold or too humid/hot (in the summers.)This was a great treadmill for him! It was slightly narrower than our one at home (the deck is 20 inches wide and 57 long), but was great for a smaller place. I didn't take into account how heavy it was (about 250 pounds in the package) so hauling it down the basement stairs was not a fun job for my son and husband (I don't want to think about getting it back out of there when he moves!) It has 2 user IDs so he can keep his information and I can use it when I live here in the summers (I am a teacher so I live here with him then.) I can be lazy about exercizing, I mean I will clean the house and cook and sew and trim hedges, etc., but set "exercise" is something I have to sort of make myself do. With the machine right in the house though, I find that I run out of excuses and will use it while I am waiting that half hour for the laundry (I am more of a fast walker than a runner), I mean I am right there and it is staring at me!

Great treadmill for the money. I chose Precor because it's what my gym has and wanted a brand that I knew.Had it delivered to my house and building it on my own was easy. I walk and run on it almost every day and have not had any issues so far and don't feel any discomfort in my knees or ankles.

Very good treadmill. Smooth and good warranty. Super pleased for the price.
