SamsungGalaxy A14 5G 4GB 64GB Black

Bought this for my 80 year old father who needed something more up to date for booking his golf via an app and he loves it - great build quality and does eveything he needs which turns out 90& of us do - but we bow to having to have the latest phone!!! Don`t do it just get this :-)

Priced just right, nice phone.

The phone was a little challenging to set up as when powered on it was in Chinese, I knew these were normally European phones, configured for the UK market (which is why they are a little cheaper) - Fortunately using the google translate app on the old phone it helped to navigate to the settings, change the language and keyboard from Hong Kong to English.Once that was done the Smart tool transferred the account, applications and data without any problems from the old phone, only taking a few minutes over Wireless, it also updated to Android 13 without issue in about 5 minutes.If you buy one of these for an upgrade be sure to have Google translate on hand just in case yours is the same, it didn't cause too much of an issue, only delaying the setup by a few minutes.It's a nice phone, a great looking screen very clear and easy to read, no charger in the box and a USB C-C cable supplied so you might need to order a USB cable and charger, fortunately I had both, it charged quite quickly on my 2A charger and despite doing the account migration, Android update and configure all the apps on battery (plus the usual new phone fiddling about), some 9 hours later it's dropped 14% charge (showing 86% remaining) without power save being enabled.The side mounted finger print scanner works very well, much improved from older phones, a quick touch and the phone is unlocked with the home screen appearing in an instant, I've only taken a couple of photos with the camera but it looks very good.If this is an indication of how things are going to be then it's going to be a great phone, very similar in looks and speed to our Samsung 21 FE for a fraction of the price.Would have awarded 5 stars but it lost one for initially being in Chinese and stumbling the setup for a few minutes.

The A14 loads quicker and seems to have a better camera than my previous model. Transfer of data from my old phone was quick and easy. Great value for the price.

This is my first Samsung phone. Before this one I used a by now 4.5 years old cheap and cheerful Xiaomi phone but want to avoid Chinese brands because of the security aspects (all mobiles by mainland Chinese brands are with very high likelyhood spy-phones as any data is running via Chinese servers (hence even the UK government outlawed huawei and other Chinese IT/mobile networking equipment from being used anywhere in the UK!) Despite the great difference in price and given that this model is 4.5 years more recent than my old phone, I can't see any difference in processor speed so was mightily disappointed about my first Samsung phone. It was only by chance, when I read some of the 1 Star ratings on Amazon.co.uk that I realised that I was duped by the sellers!Do not buy this phone if you want Samsung's full feature benefits! Instead of the much faster standard Exynos 1330 that is included in the standard version of the GALAXY A14 5G, does this have the very old and much cheaper MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset that was used in the predecessor Galaxy A13 5G model! It looks like the dealers are stealthily selling here a much worse performing version of the GALAXY A14 5G that is meant for export to countries like India that can be sold at a lower price for the same profit margin BUT this is NOT the UK version of the Samsung GALAXY A14 5G!!!The Exynos chip is much more powerful which means that a whole range of standard features for the UK version are NOT INCLUDED with this phone. Examples include but are not limited to: there is no equalizer or sound assistant so if your listening to Amazon hd tidal or apple music you will not get good audio quality like lossless. Also I won't be surprised if this won't receive the new android 14 update later this year.Athough the dealer correctly stated the version of this as being "SM-A146P", is this 'offer' still highly misleading as it totally lacks any note that this is a far inferior version of the SM-A146PL!

Ordered the item being a bit sceptical about it, when it arrived it came in original Samsung packaging with the user manual,cable and sim card tool.Not a scratch on the phone anywhere,overall really happy about the itemWould recommend to anyone who is buying a phone on a budget, really good value for money

This is a bargain basement 5G phone. Well worth the money. Very long battery life. Good quality cameras for the price. Apps and programs are fast and there's no lag whatsoever when flicking through apps. Charging time is slightly longer than other phones but it's not a deal breaker - for that you get a long battery life, it easily lasts me a couple of days. Highly recommended.

Good value for money if all you need is a relatively basic smart phone. Does everything I need including 5G and the camera is pretty good too.
