Great for cold drink but from its design, probably not OK to pour in hot drinks as the thermoshock will warp the plastic and the stainless linings (as physics applies and this is probably why tons of people had warpped the plastic and deformed the cup)I also would like to point out that the inner and outer ice chill compartments are designed to NOT air tight thus allowing ice/thermo expansion under icing/hot condition, and it has a pinhole vent right underneath the adhesive tape (which I took off as my drink kept getting messy under it), and another venting hole on the outer compartment right around the lid. If you were to turn the cup 180 degree upside-down, these two pinholes will start leaking tiny droplets, which is normal by design (initially I was a bit upset as the leaking gives an impression of defects, but after close looking, they are there for a reason). As long as they were droplets it's totally fine.I am still dubious about how it can handle hot drinks which I dont regularly enjoy, but due to the different expansion rate of plastic and stainless steel, I personally dare not to venture such endeavor

The lid cracked within a week of daily use. I would brew the coffee in a cup and not directly on to the lid. Inspite of that, the lid cracked. They should think of making the lid stainless steel as well! Or offer replacement lids.

I absolutely love this and it's a necessity for anybody who likes iced drinks. The upgrade to the stainless steel outer is highly recommended. I previously purchased 3 of the plastic ones (one for my daughter, one for my office and one for home) and both of mine cracked. The company replaced the first one without any hassle but when the second one cracked I didn't want to replace it with another plastic one and ordered the stainless steel.Because I put sugar in my coffee I brew into a cup, add the sugar and then pour into this container. Let it sit or I swirl it around for a minute, then pour over ice. The ice doesn't melt and water down the coffee. This thing is just absolutely brilliant! It does 10 oz really well and 12 ounces is about maximum and might slosh out a little bit as you swirl.

Definitely get this if you want to instant cool down a hot drink! I didn't want ice melting in my coffee so quickly so got this and it works even better than I thought. When leaving fresh coffee inside for 3-5 minutes, the coffee is cold enough to not need ice at all although ice is needed for extra coldness. However it definitely helps prevent the instant melting and watering down of my coffee since the ice lasts longer in the cooled down drink.Note: When refreezing without getting rid of old ice, this is probably the reason the inside metal chambers dent and plastic versions of the Hyperchiller burst. I still refreeze half the time for convenience but do note that denting will happen.
