It’s Amazing, just get it
I love this thing, paired with the fx3 cage it’s freaking awesome I can build/breakdown my rig so much faster than before. Also the little chest pad is super useful for handheld shooting but easy to remove when it’s not needed. I leave my tripod plate attached so i can just snap it all together real fast and start shooting. I haven’t had issues with the joint like others have. I recommend it to my friends.

Improving On Excellence - Great Piece Of Gear
I own the original version of the Smallrig V-Mount plate which I think is one of the best products Smallrig has ever designed and produced. It's the perfect solution for building compact cinema rigs using cameras like a Canon R5C or a Sony FX3/30. The 4064B update version only improves on the already excellent original version. Three notable changes/improvements-- There are fewer 1/4-20 mounting points on the battery mounting plate. I don't know what this change accomplishes, but since those mounting points probably don't get used a ton, I don't think it'll affect many people upgrading to the new version.- The twist knob that locks the folding hinge in place is now a more ergonomic thumb screw, instead of the older round knob. It makes locking and unlocking the unit after folding or unfolding it much easier.- the square Arca-Swiss quick release mounting point at the bottom is now removable, allowing users to mount their own quick release solution.Just as with the original, the unit is well-made and solid, and works perfectly. Highly recommended.

Great customer service!!!
The media could not be loaded. After writing a bad review, Smallrig was kind enough to reach out to me and help resolve my issue! Thanks Smallrig!old review:Read before you buy!!! I purchased this along with Smallrigs expensive V99 battery, and all I can say that they are not compatible. When the battery is attached I am able to wiggle it apart. You can see that the plate is not in tolerance and is off by a few milimeters, just enough for the plate to be twisted off. I have never expirienced this with vmounts before. I am SO DISSAPOINTED!Heres my review for the V99:NOT HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT. I have this battery along with Smallrigs Vmount battery plate. When I attach the V99 battery to the vmount plate, I noticed I am able to wiggle it apart/off. BEWARE the vmount is not secure, I already dropped my battery from resting my rig against my chest. So I sandwiched an extra plate that comes with the Smallrig Vmount plate and seems to be secure but is only held with one 1/4”-20 screw. These are both Smallrig products, I’m not understanding why I need to install a second plate for it to work, for such an expensive item and all the advertising they have with the two, you would think they are compatible together, get it right smallrig! Hopefully Smallrig revises these Vmount locking plates asap or I will be going back to my FXLions.

Awesome Plate (Caution for Peak Design / Ulanzi F38 / Etc.)
A great plate from smallrig that really delivers on what it says it will do.Unfortunately, if you use a peak design system, or a Ulanzi F38 like me, it does not fit into the quick release, it's too small by millimeters (which I'm sure is intentional)The workaround? I put an F38 plate on the bottom of the whole Smallrig plate so at least when I'm on set going from tripod to handheld, the whole rig still works from an f38 quick release stand point (you can do this with any baseplate really)But the Smallrig Plate itself must be screwed to the bottom of the camera which isn't the end of the world, but I'd ideally like to stay in one system completely, so if Ulanzi / Falcam came out with their own version of this I'd switch to that, but for now, this workaround version is doing fine.

Sturdy, Reliable Power Solution — Great for Tripod or Studio Use
I picked up this SmallRig Foldable V-Mount Battery Plate for my Sony FX3 before heading to NAB 2025, and it performed great on day one. It connects solidly to the bottom of the camera and feels super sturdy — definitely a well-built piece of gear. That said, with a fully rigged setup and V-mount battery, the added weight was a bit much for handheld use over multiple days, so I went lighter for the rest of the show. But if you’re in a studio environment or using a tripod, this is an excellent solution for extended power without compromise. One less thing to worry about on set!

Good design, battery easily falls off (update)
UPDATE: If you have the problem I have below, try loosening the V mount screws on your battery. Totally fixed this problem. Updating to 5 stars.I love the design of this thing, but the battery EASILY falls off this mount. I never feel my battery is securely fastened to my rig.One time I was telescoping my battery out of the way, and it popped off and landed on my toe.Smallrig, I love you guys, but this design needs work. Please make a version that firmly secures the battery.

Perfect For A Compact Rig
This is everything I could have hoped for when building out a compact video rig with a Sony A7IV. I wanted to keep things compact and simple without using rails and this combined with the Smallrig V mount batteries fit the bill. My camera cage locks right into it and I have no need for a power distribution plate with the ports available on the batteries plus it is already arca compatible to put on a tripod. This combination keeps everything simple and saved me plenty of money not needing all the parts of a more traditional rig.
