⚡ Ignite Your Curiosity with Uraninite!
This high-grade unrefined uranium ore, known as uraninite, is a naturally occurring uranium oxide mineral that serves as a test source for Geiger counters and radiation detectors. It emits alpha, beta, and gamma radiations, making it an essential tool for scientific study, and is license exempt for ownership.

Generational use
This ore is found in medical equipment. Great science class discussion (5-6). Paper (9-12).

I am a very satisfied customer
it is money well spent. i took it into school and used my chemistry teachers Geiger counter on it and then she asked me to bring it again the next day as we were about to learn about nuclear fission and fusion and i was very happy. i came back the next day with three papers of information on it and i did the proper calculations and found that the sample i bought will kill me..... in about 70 years.... lol by then the radiation would have been filtered and even if you ate the rocks you would not even get sick. ive had this for about 2 weeks now and im not showing any signs of even slight radiation poisoning so anyone who thinks this is dangerous think again, its a cool conversation piece and a fantastic way to test Geiger counters and scare your friends at the same time :D 10/10 i am going to buy more when i can. ( also the little metal tin it comes in only blocks half the radiation from it )

Bad Weed Killer
I bought this but sadly, when I dropped it in the garden (to kill weeds) it just sank in there. Then all the weeds tried to eat me. Is there a "Plant Control"?

Seller Shows Some Pictures Of Larger Samples But Sends Tiny Flakes - At Least At The $11 Price Level..
Be careful when dealing with this seller. The price of these samples should say FROM $11. The order that I received was from samples 2572--6 and the pieces were tiny flakes all as small as the tiniest flake shown on the lower right side of this sample picture. Nowhere in either the product description or the product details is there any explanation as to what sample that you would actually receive.

It would be nice to have alpha but a pancake alpha detector cost ...
They gave me much more clarification than another company that sent me a clump of ore with a certificate. My geiger counter did not read what the certificate said the sample was. Well the new samples explained the I would read some were between 30 to 40 lessif my counter did not read alpha, beta and gamma. mine only reads gamma and beta. my ore sample was certified for 1000 cpm well take 35 percent off of 1000 and you get what I was reading 650 cpm. It would be nice to have alpha but a pancake alpha detector cost almost a 100 dollars that works at 350 to 500 what my 4011 tube runs off of.

Like a Box of radioactive chocolates.
You never know what you're going to get! Excellent Uranium Ore Sample, and superb Geiger counter source test. I received a rather large sample of Coffinite Uranium Ore from the NM repository. I was expecting nothing more than a dime size, but is it HOT! This listing lends from many different sources, and thus you are likely to get a different type of ore each time. I was lucky enough to have a Professor of UNM to send this sample from the Poison Valley deposits, along with several DVD's on the area and the project, as well as reading material and more! I constructed a small Lead cage for the sample (1/8 thickness) and placed it inside of an Airtight Pelican strongbox, and then placed the box inside of an Airtight Glovebox. Keep your samples away from your beds, people! And WEAR HEAVY GLOVES WHEN HANDLING.Adeui!-Sam Cooke

Very weak for beta and gamma counter
It works only very weakly with my beta & gamma counters. I could not ascertain that it was a super alpha emitter.

Hot Rock!
Exactly what was described, a chunk of uranium that makes your geiger counter go nuts. As a participant in a global radiation monitor network I wanted a check source to make sure the device I was installing worked. This product does exactly that. While I don't know what the maximum reading of my meter is. I can say that the nominal background of my meter was 20 counts per minute. With this inside a bag inside a sealed tin can and sitting about 1/2 and inch from the detector my counts go to around 750 per minute. All gamma given that all the other stuff should be filtered by the moderate shielding the can provides. The product came with a description, CPM count of combined emissions (95K CPM for my sample), the actual source of the uranium, in my case Utah and arrived quickly and well packaged. Based on the picture I think you can tell which detector I run.
