I didn't know this was a wear item. Now I know as the blend noise increases it is probably time to change this drive piece. Remove the rubber cover around the drive. Use the included allen wrench to loosen the set screw. I put the allen wrench in the hole on the side and manually turn the drive until I feel it hit the set screw. Remove the old drive and tighten set screw. Then loosen set screw until drive moves slightly up and down but cannot be removed. Remember to unplug unit first.

The media could not be loaded. Purchased several month ago and didnt need them right away. Tried them and they damaged my vitamix because they are off center and not balanced properly. So i re-ordered last week thinking surely it was just a fluke. Unfortunately the new ones are exactly the same. They aren't balanced so they wobble and cause damage to our vitamix machines. Dont buy these it will cost you.

Hopefully easy to install! The gears look intact and like it will cause much less damage than the worn down one that I had.

This item came as promised and on time, we had to find another Allen wrench to install, however, as it only came with the parts, not the wrench as pictured/described. Once we found one that fit it was fairly easy to install and now the blender is working again. I only gave 2 stars for installation because of the missing wrenches.
