Makes showering after a fall safer
Highly recommended this product. Bought after a fall in the shower, unfortunately hit my head on the shower wall and thought it was time to get something to make showering safe. Decent size and trim able if needed, doesn’t move at all whilst in the shower, looks smart and comfortable to stand on. Whole family have said it’s made an improvement, much safer for everybody. Definitely worth the money and will buy another when needed!

Unshakeable wet room stability that restores absolute confidence for elderly users
Standard rubber bath mats with suction cups are a slip hazard waiting to happen in a wet room; they trap soapy hair, slide on wet tiles, and pool water around the ankles. This Asvin loofah mat completely eliminates that anxiety by providing a highly porous, high-grip surface that lets water drain straight through to the floor gully. If you are caring for an elderly relative who is terrified of slipping in the shower, this simple textured layer offers immediate underfoot security without creating a trip hazard. The Bottom Line • Should you buy it? Yes. It is an exceptional, dignity-restoring safety upgrade for wet rooms, though you should measure carefully before ordering. Who This Is For vs. Who Should Skip • Who This Is For: Anyone managing mobility issues, unsteadiness, or anxiety on wet tiled floors, where instant drainage and non-slip security are non-negotiable. • Who Should Skip: Homeowners with massive, open-concept walk-in showers who require edge-to-edge floor coverage from a single mat. The Real-World Test I installed this explicitly for my 96-year-old mother-in-law, who has failing eyesight, has become increasingly unsteady on her feet and highly nervous when stepping into her wet room shower. The transformation in her confidence was immediate. The mat grips the floor tile firmly without a single suction cup, and the woven, springy loofah texture gives her an unshakeable foothold even when the floor is completely covered in soapy water. Instead of panicking about her footing, she feels entirely safe, and the open weave allows the mat to air-dry remarkably quickly right after the water is turned off. Quick Scan Scorecard • Underfoot Grip: 5/5 – Provides a firm, coarse texture that prevents feet from sliding even under soapy water. • Drainage Efficiency: 5/5 – Zero pooling; water passes straight through the porous mat directly to the floor drain. • Floor Adhesion: 5/5 – The patterned backing stays perfectly anchored on wet tiles without shifting under weight. • Coverage Area: 4/5 – The 40x60cm dimensions are a decent size, but with hindsight, a larger option would offer better coverage. The Pro-Level Detail The brilliant design choice here is the complete omission of suction cups in favour of a high-friction, porous latticed backing. Suction cups require a perfectly smooth, non-porous acrylic or enamel surface to seal, meaning they fail catastrophically on the matte, textured, or anti-slip tiles typically installed in modern wet rooms. This mat relies on continuous surface area contact, using the weight of the water and the user to lock itself against the floor tiles, ensuring it cannot float or aquaplane mid-shower. Technical Note While the 40x60cm size is ideal for standard enclosed shower cubicles, it can feel a bit small in a completely open wet room layout. If your drainage gully sits further away from the main standing area, consider stepping up to the next size tier to ensure you have a continuous, safe route from the shower to the dry area.

Best not slip I've found
This is a very good mat with a loofa type feel. It does need drying with the white side out which helps stop the mould. I do replace mine every couple of years because in the end it does mark on the underside.

Great shower mat.
This shower mat is great for me. Non slip mat that I use and feel safe on. Dries easily and lasts ages as I already had one.

My favourite
These mats are absolutely great. I would highly recommend them. Definitely non slip.. the coverage was just what was required. I had a smaller versioning for about about 3years and it never let mr down, comfortable for the feet .the size of this one is very good it fits my shower floor with a bit all lround to spare. It is truly a great buy

Bath mat
Second time I’ve ordered this non slip bath mat. Lasts for ages before eventually catching some mild. Definitely as good if not better than some double the price. Recommended.

Great idea but goes mouldy very quickly
I am in total agreement with the reviewer "muddlingthrough". I bought this shower mat last August (it is now March) and we found it a great item to use. It is soft to stand on, does not move in the shower, catches hair and is easy to rinse. We live in Cornwall which is a soft water area, and like 'muddlingthrough' we have put up a towel rail to hang the mat over to ensure that it has air circulation between showers. We also only use the shower 2/3 times a week, not every day. Yet within about 2 months of using it, the mat started to change colour on the reverse, from light beige to mouldy black. I have put it through the washing machine at least 6 times over the 7 months, as well as regularly using mould remover spray and cleaning it thoroughly, but it seems we have now got to the point that it is not cleanable. Every time we use the shower and lift the mat, the shower is covered in tiny black bits which, if we shake the mat, go up the walls, over us and everywhere! I can only assume this is bits of mould or maybe the mat is disintegrating, although it does not seem to be. I only sprayed and machine washed the mat yesterday but today we still have the same result. Sadly we will not be using the mat any more. An explanation of why this has happened would be appreciated, as on paper the mat seemed to be a brilliant product. Very disappointing. To be honest, we're not sure why Amazon are still allowing this item to be sold from their site...??
