Brillant!
We bought this for my old dad. It is very good and barks if anything is in the garden. Unlike an alarm (when a burglar is already in when it goes off) it will bark furiously if anyone is outside. I tried it out standing in the back garden with the sliding door and curtains shut and you can hear the barking loudly.

Does not work through doors, windows or walls !
My mother was burgled recently and is very upset, I bought the dog barking alarm for her to help her. I thoroughly tested the alarm when it arrived, with sensitivity turned up to max the sensor is not capable of penetrating walls, glass or doors, I feel conned, I bought it only because the seller made the claim that it works in this way, as it cannot detect through glass, walls or doors it is useless to my mother and I assume to anyone wishing to deter unwanted visitors. I can confirm that the sensor is working and very effective if simply set down in a room where there is any movement.

On my third one now and still doesn't work properly.
Purchased this mainly for the dog bark - which is ok for what it is. However I thought I would find a use for the ding dong bell and the Alarm feature as well. The first one I received would ring the bell and would bark but when I set it to Alarm it just barked again. The company sent me a returns label and, when they received it back, they sent me another one but said that they couldn't find anything wrong with the original. I tested the new one they had sent me and it was exactly the same as the first - it wouldn't sound the alarm. I called the company and even played the bell and the dog bark over the phone to them - then switched it to Alarm so that they could hear that it still just barked. They sent me another returns label and, after I had sent this second item back, they sent me a third one - again saying that they could find no fault with the one I had returned. This third arrived in a tatty old, second hand box and had obviously been used before. Once more only the bell and the dog bark worked. I phoned them again and demonstrated over the phone and they told me that they would send me another returns label and if I sent it back that they would refund my money. I pointed out that this saga had been going on for over a month, that I wanted the item mainly for the Dog Bark function, but that I resented paying full price for something that didn't work as it should. They guy told me that the last two had operated properly on return and that, apart from a refund, there was nothing else he could do. I said that I really needed one before I went on holiday and that I was going in the next few days and didn't have time now to get anything different. I said I was prepared to keep the faulty item if he gave me a part refund as only two of the three functions were working - he told me he could not do that and that I would have to return the item. After a further discussion he compromised and sent me a returns label for when I get back off holiday - when I will return the item for a full refund.Although the company have been helpful they can't seem to send me a working item and just keep saying that the ones I return are working ok - which they don't at my end (and it's not exactly rocket science to switch from one function to the other!) I will be returning this and getting my money back and then I shall look for something that actually does what it says it will.If I was you I would look for something else in the first place.

Works well but drains batteries far too quickly.
Product seems well made and works as it should. The slide switch has three sound settings; 1. bell, 2, barking dog, and 3, alarm. On my unit I also have a barking dog on setting 3, but I am not really concerned about that. What I am concerned about is the battery drain. I installed brand new Duracell batteries but 4 days later the unit started behaving eratically and then finally stopped working. I checked the battery voyages and found that the charge was 35% down, after just 4 days. The unit works fine on the mains adapter but I have no mains supply where I intend the unit to be installed. This is very disappointing as I had expected the batteries to last a few weeks, or at least as long as a couple of weeks away on holiday!

GREAT PRODUCT, WITH AN ABSOLUTELY REALISTIC LOUD ALSATIAN BARK!
Excellent product that can be heard a good distance away, although I set the sensor on mine about half way, so anyone approaching from about two metres away got a good clear and loud, very realistic Alsatian bark, and I have even named mine, so when the postman comes I take the letters and let him know my dog is not to be trusted, so be careful putting my post through the letterbox. I’m a lier but I will say or do anything to keep undesirables from my house!!

Some minor changes would make it an excellent product
Overall is a good product. The volume and sensor works well and can be adapted to a wide range. Barking is not very realistic but is Ok. Barking should be more varied. Communication with customers service was excellent and very helpful after the courier failed to deliver the item

A great burglar alarm.
Will definitely buy again. Excellent value for the price. A great deterrent against thieves. Very realistic barking sound, plus the fact that the unit works on batteries as well as on mains power makes it truly portable for anywhere in the house. The portability means that the unit can also be used in vans and out-buildings which do not have mains power. I use quality alkaline batteries, and they last for quite a long time. Also, you know when you have a caller at the door whenever you are in the house.
