Product Description Warship Builder Lexington Cartoon Ship - The Lexington class aircraft carriers, originally designed as battlecruisers, were large aircraft carriers built for the U.S. Navy before World War II. This class included two aircraft carriers: the lead ship USS Lexington CV-2 and her sister ship USS Saratoga CV-3. The USS Lexington CV-2 was used to develop and refine carrier tactics in a series of fleet exercises before World War II. This ship was sunk in the Battle of the Coral Sea in 1942. Kit Info - The aircraft carrier Lexington is the first product of the Warship Builder series plastic models. Thanks to the bold design, the cold war machine in real life has been transformed to a cute warship model, the Warship Builder - Lexington. This model can be built as a waterline or full hull version. Three types of aircraft are provided. The elevator cover is detachable to show the aircraft inside. This model can be built in a quick and enjoyable way thanks to the press fit assembly design, pre coloured parts and adhesive stickers. Length: 160 mm Width: 58 mm Height: 80 mm Set Contains: 1 plastic kit

Surprisingly difficult kit
First of all, just because it's cute and cartoon-ish, DON'T mistake this for a little kids' introduction to model building- although it's "push fit" (read: "snap together,") it is a very precise, super engineered build. Inexperienced fingers will likely break and lose pieces. In fact, so can very experienced, 40+ years of kit building fingers have that issue. The components are SO small and detailed that I really had to work at putting it all together. My only real complaint about the model is the decals. They really aren't decals at all - they are thick, unforgiving vinyl stickers. They are the one component that fails to live up to the otherwise fantastic aircraft carrier. Do yourself a favor - throw them away and either paint the details yourself, or opt to leave the pieces in the colors they were molded. Either will enhance the finished product more than the included stickers. This is a fun kit, and a surprising challenge. It's an attractive change to my usual, correct scale military focus.

Good Mold Design, Bad Stickers
I just picked up this kit at a local Hobby Lobby for $6.24 after my son lost some parts to the first one that we paid $25 for. It is a fun kit to build as Meng did a good job with the mold design -- not so much on the stickers.
