Wagner Spraytech 0529054 HVLP Studio Plus Stationary Paint Sprayer, home décor paint spray interior paint sprayer for latex, chalk and milk paint to refinish furniture

When I decided to paint all of the furniture in my Master Bedroom, plus other pieces from the living room, I knew that I needed a sprayer. After some online research, I selected the Wagner Studio Plus. This kit comes with a second spray gun that I didn't use, but the extra paint container was a wonderful time saver. Basically, the unit is a small vacuum in reverse (an air blower) that is separate from the handheld spray gun. This keeps the weight out of your hands. Two of the cans of Valspar Cabinet and Furniture paint from Lowes did not need thinning, but most did. The Valspar primer definitely required thinning. The clean-up process was very easy. I used the provided poster size target every time I started painting to get paint flowing and verify a smooth spray.For the smaller pieces, I constructed a 6-foot cube spray booth in the garage from one-inch diameter thin-wall PVC pipe. A single sheet of 3 mil-thick clear plastic that was 10ft x 25ft enclosed the structure. A drop cloth or cardboard covered the floor. Five-gallon pail turned upside down elevated the pieces to a comfortable working height. When I painted the king-sized bed and chest of drawers in place, I hung 0.3mil plastic 9 feet up on all of the walls and covered the entire floor with drop cloths. No problems with paint going where it did not belong.The only time I encountered sprayer problems was when I failed to tighten the nozzle ring (after cleaning and re-assembly). Also, when the paint was too thick it would create some splatter, which was easily remedied by thinning.I took the time to do this project right. All pieces were lightly sanded, wiped down with mineral spirits, and a final dry wipe with a tack cloth. In between coats, I lightly sanded with 400 or 600 grit paper and wiped with a tack cloth. The results were nothing short of professional. The quality of the paint job on the bedroom furniture was better than the factory original! I was on a roll, so I removed and painted 9 of the panels from my kitchen cabinets. They turned out beautiful, too.Tip: Place the blower outside the spray booth and run the hose under the plastic to keep the suction filter clean. Always wear personal PPE (a dust mask and safety glasses).

Even though this model says it for "home decor," I bought it to paint a wooden picket fence, and it worked superbly. Paint flow control was easy, coverage was good and over-spray was minimal. Build quality was very good. I painted 80 feet of fence (previously painted, not virgin wood) in about an hour, one side and the edges of the pickets, the reverse side comes next. This would have taken hours by hand. Clean-up was fast with soapy water. I am very impressed.

I will start by saying I am a terrible painter and this worked great for me. I read all reviews and did see people mentioning that it did not apply smoothly. I will say that I did notice that when i was spraying as well but in most cases it tends to dry smoothly. Takes some practice but has saved me lots of time as I am painting furniture that typically takes forever to paint. I did find that the piece that attaches to the paint cup seems to take a lot of time and water to get the paint out of after use. I would definitely but again.

I opened the box, read the instructions and set up the sprayer. Loaded it with paint, turned it on and it immediately blew paint everywhere. I had not even touched the trigger, and when I did it had no effect. Trigger valve not sealing. Sh!t everywhere.So I shut it down, disconnected the gun, carried it over to the kitchen sink and proceeded to strip it down, clean it out and determine the problem. Couldn't see anything wrong. Reassembled it and guess what? Trigger now working properly.Reloaded and reconnected and proceeded to spray out a small section of interior paneled wall using a Sherwin Williams interior latex. Tried all different air/paint flow settings to obtain a decent finish. Couldn't manage to make it happen; no matter what I did the thing just splatters. Was using 12" masking paper and the splatter even extended beyond that. I had to back roll; wall still looks like A$$. I'll probably have to sand it down and roll it again.I ordered product this based on the claim that it would spray unthinned latex house paint. It will splatter it on there, so if you don't care what the end result looks like then maybe this is the spray painter for you. I'm gonna send mine back.Also, it's really slow; rolling is faster, and the finish is better.EDIT: I mucked around with it some more, and managed to obtain a decent result. Here's what worked for me:1. THIN INTERIOR LATEX PAINT BY 10%. Use warm water.2. Narrow the spray pattern and turn down the air...both to about 60%. This will concentrate the spray (splatter) pattern to about 4" wide at 6" distance, and minimize over-splatter to adjacent areas.3. Mask, drape and cover everything in the room w/ painter's plastic, or it will have a thin coating of fine paint dust when your done. Wear a respirator & safety glasses.

This is a great starter kit for anyone wanting to develop a skill in paint spraying. The equipment is easy to use, although getting the viscosity of the paint right takes a bit of trial and effort, but the results are rewarding.The guns are easy to clean, but good planning and batch painting can avoid having to do this too often.

By far the best HVLP spray unit I have ever used.I used it to spray water base lacquer on cabinet doors. The unit is very powerful and sprays thicker materials very well. Very easy to clean up.I highly recommend this unit. It is very affordable.

Received with a broken latch. Have not tried it so I don’t know if it effects it or not.

Item does not spray constantly, causing serious overspray. spray pattern adjustability is very limited.Item spray nozzle is cheap thin plastic that cracked upon first use, not what I would have expected from a wagner product.

J'ai repeint ma porte de garage car le soleil et le climat en général fait pâlir la peinture.Le résultat est très bien, on peu dire même professionnel. C'est un bon investissement.
