I would be happier if the machine had arrived threaded.
I really like this machine. It's not quite as nice as my old Elna serger, but it's a good one. I do have one criticism of the seller - that the machine came un-threaded. If you have any experience with sergers, you know that it's much, much easier to re-thread a threaded serger. The instruction manual is just so-so, and it took me a while to thread it correctly. It had clearly been threaded at one point because it had been tested, but the thread had been removed. I would have been happier if they removed the spools and cut the thread at the top.

The best Serger ever
I recently returned a Singer 5 thread Quantum to Amazon. Once credited I orderedthe JUKI 734DE. This is the best machine I have ever used. I have been serging for 20 years! I cant wait to get home from work and use this machine. It is quiet, neat, and user friendly! I switch to rolled hem in a snap. Flatlock is gorgeous. People have a hard time with the fact my garments are home made as opposed to factory made, they look so good! I ordered all the feet and that too is as easy as 1 2 3. I recommend this Juki to everyone that wantsa beautiful finish with ease! Go for it, you will love it!!

They aren't bad machines, they're just average
I own two Juki machines & had expected much higher quality. They aren't bad machines, they're just average. This serger has trouble with single-needle stitches. Two-needle is good & consistent. The machines are solid and well-made, but I'd expected higher stitch quality at this price-point. Of the three other machines that I own, I've found that Brother makes great machines that cost much less than the Jukis.

This machine only worked for about 3 months and the most annoying thing is that when I called Juki to see about getting the warranty to fix the machine, they sent me to a voice mail twice and still have not returned my call. WILL NEVER BUY A JUKI PRODUCT AGAIN!!!

Excellent overlocking and rolled hemming. Easy to operate, accurate, powerful.
This is an excellent machine, perfect for 2/3/4-thread overlock stitching and 3- and 4-thread rolled hemming.Threading is fairly easy, as the machine includes printed color-coded diagrams inside the machine. Following the correct threading order (you must do this) and use the proper needles for the material weight and thread type, stitching is fast, easy, and very precise. I've had no mechanical issues whatsoever and the machine is fairly easy to operate, including a well-weighted series of thread tension assemblies and a pedal that can be modulated from single stitches to 1500 stitches per minute.Switching threading for different stitches takes time and practice. If you plan on doing a lot of one particular stitch (4-thread overlocking, for example), you might want to invest in another serger to handle the other stitch types. This is not a flaw with the MO-734DE; every serger except self-threading machines requires time and patience to constantly re-thread.The manual isn't the best I've read. Some of the instructions are confusing, especially for those who aren't experienced with overlocking machines. There are videos on YT, however; try to watch videos of either similar Juki overlocking machines or their sibling Bernina machines. (The MO-734DE is made in the same factory as the Bernina sergers.)I own several overlocking machines, new and vintage. This is the best one. It's fast, powerful, and its stitches are accurate and precise. Thread tails are as predictable and accurate as cloth stitches and can be pulled through the machine with ease. I like my rolled hems tight and round and I can achieve them using the 4-thread stitching of the MO-734DE. Juki has been making domestic and industrial overlockers for decades. Theirs are among the best. I expect mine to last many years.Highly recommended.
