My wife likes to listen to YouTube and music late at night and when she sleeps. That constant use at night was burning through phones and hurting batteries. This is our cheap solution! Not the fastest tablet, but it works great, has a head phone jack, and the battery can last a whole night even unplugged. All for a tenth the price of a high end phone. Wouldn't recommend this for games, but it's fine for videos and YouTube and stuff once the updates are all done. Oh, and you MUST learn how to "close all" to save battery. It's swipe from the bottom BUT stop a third the way up the screen abruptly. What a weird quirk for an essential feature.

I'm using this as an e-reader so I didn't have to worry about the ads on a kindle and it is literally perfect! So easy to use and set up, connects to the internet well, and just small enough to fit in my purse and comfortably in my hand while I'm reading. The screen quality is nice and i have had no problems with the color grading, since I prefer color readers to the black and white options. The battery also lasts forever, so I'm never worried about bringing my charger on long train trips when I want to read. It's compatible with my bluetooth headphones and I can access everything I need. Truly a great small tablet if you were looking for a kindle or kobo alternative.

This is not as easy to use as a ipad, but it was a fraction of the cost and the speed has been reasonable for the price. I do not think it is slow, but would not say it is super fast with all the apps either. Most of the apps it works fine using this. The screen display and the battery life are amazing though. It is thin as well. I ordered a case to use with it and to store it. It was and still is a little confusing to figure out how to move out of an app to the home screen and I like the ipad method to doing it more, but I have also used Apple phones and tablets for many years so part of that is just my habits on how I have used a tablet. For kids that are younger I think this would be a good starter tablet, because if they break or lose it, you are not out so much money. A ipad costs a lot more. If you are just going to use it a little I also think that this works fine and having a much more expensive ipad really has no benefit. But, if I was going to be using a tablet a lot like I do my phone, I would not use this as my go to tablet. But, for watching a movie and checking email or using social media a little now and then and having it for that purpose this is prefect. I tried some games that are more graphic intense as well on this and they work ok, but for simple games that do not need a lot of processing power this would be more than enough.

Tired of Amazon fire tablet. Wouldn't stay on. Just randomly shut off while reading & that's mainly what I use it for. So I tried something different. Only one time experienced something odd. I turned on the tablet to a book I was already reading when I was waiting at Doctors office. Book wouldn't open. Restarted & it still didn't open. I tried another book I had already downloaded & it opened just fine. Only problem I've had & when I got back home & opened the original book that gave me trouble, it opened fine. No idea what that was about. Have had it for 3 mos and that was only issue, so overall I am happy. My wife has had the same tablet and no issues in 9 mos.

I really miss small form factor android tablets. This one seemed to fit the bill for my need of a device to do some browsing and content consumption, but it is beyond laggy and almost unusable. It couldn't even handle a solitaire app I've installed on other low power devices without a hitch - The unit is full on plastic and did not feel like a quality product - I returned it after a couple of weeks and got the M9 from a different retailer for only $10 more on sale. The M9 is miles above in performance and the metal body really amps up the build quality. I would highly recommend skipping the M8 and getting the M9 instead.

I bought this thing with a very specific purpose in mind and I think it is going to be really good. The size is perfect and it has every control I could possibly want. It is probably no fault of Lenovo but Setup had me asking three questions more than once: 1) Why am I doing this again?, 2) Why are we on this screen again? and 3) Why am I doing this again again? Once I got through the trauma I was happy and didn't want to go to sleep. I would buy this again, and leave an inheritance to the person that makes Setup easier.

So I have been looking for a cheap tablet to use as an e-reader and to use one app that reads PDFs and webpages out loud. I currently use my phone but want to have something that I don't have text notifications come thru and mess up me listening or reading. So I try this tablet. I saw reviews on how slow it was and thought that what I was going to use it for the tablet didn't need to be fast. However, I was wrong. There is such a delay, not in apps working, but in the touch screen. 1/3rd time it take 30 second from the time I click something to then register the click. The other 1/3rd of the time, it just doesn't register at all. This also freezes up when ever something down loads or if I am in the phone settings. I have rebooted it, updated it, and factory reset this tablet. If this was just slow and with the screen freeze I probably would have been ok with it, but the fact the touch screen doesn't register really messes it all up. Me stoping my music or an audio book from the lock screen should be fast and easy, with this tablet it takes about a minute sometimes.

I bought this for a lightweight tablet to use on wifi at work. I'm a nurse and needed something larger than a phone but small enough to carry easily to review orders, chart, and submit notes. I am just using this for internet browsing and it's exactly what I need. Connects to wifi easily, loads quickly, and a fairly responsive screen. I do wish it was brighter but I have vision issues. Getting issues to Android over iOS has been my biggest issue. Great for my needs and exactly what I wanted. Great product for the price! Battery life has been great, charging not an issue so far.
