Family Guy - Season 1-9 [DVD]

I got this box when it was on special - sale here at Amazon - so I paid less than 2 bucks per DVD. So there is the first five - star rate for the fabulous price Amazon has.We all know by now that the British / German counting is different than the US - counting: It is not "Seasons" as in the US - TV but "Volumes" as it should be rightly labeled. I knew this before so this is nothing I have to rate negative since I could get my information with less effort before I bought the box. Also the "extended" episodes are not in the box even if they used the small DVD image from the "Season 9 To hot for TV" on the outside of the box. Inside is the "standard" DVD. Since I could obtain this information also very easily and it is not the fault of Amazon (and given the price I paid) it is nothing that weights too negative. The producer should be advised to check his box - art otherwise I can see some legal issues coming his way.One critic complained about the long "buy legal DVD" - stuff that as he / she claimed could not be skipped. I checked this on my computer (Apple) and on my Blu-Ray Player (Philips): The "legal-stuff" and the Blu-Ray add can both be easily skipped.Now back to the DVDs: The picture is crisp and clean even if I have only the DVDs. I watch them - as said - on the computer and on my TV thru a Blu-Ray Player with auto-upscaling mode set on. Since I'm not "native-English" it is sometimes hard to follow the "mumbling" and therefore I'm thankful for the subtitles that can be switched on.The box is sturdy and contains 9 DVDs (labeled Season 1 - 9) plus a 10th DVD "Family Guy uncovered" which contains 14 Episodes with Commentaries, Promos, Deleted Stuff etc. The DVDs are in a "standard" DVD case which contains mostly 3 DVDs (Box 1 and 2 contain only 2 DVDs) compared to the "American Dad" - Box which contains slim DVD cases.It does not contain an extra booklet with the episodes or a listing of the "original" seasons they belong but this can be easily downloaded thru the internet for those who are interested in it.The shipping and handling was Amazon standard: fast and reliable.All in all I am very pleased with this box and very happy that I could get this funny cartoon-series so cheap.

Family Guy is the creation of Seth McFarlane, and is about a family who live in Quohog, Rhode Island. There's Lois, mum and generally the sensible one, though she has her moments, Peter, the immature one who makes us laugh, Meg the kid who's always picked on; Chris, the stupid one and baby Stewie, who's the funniest of the bunch. They have a talking dog, Brian - who's a boozer and a womaniser. Their neighbours, Quagmire is a pervert, Joe a cop, and Cleveland Brown a funny guy live close by, and have a ball when they get together.Some of the best episodes includes the one where Peter loses the party venue; the one where Lois goes wild at spring break; the one where Chris works at the local store with the movie buff and the one where Stewie dreams of being on the Starship Enterprise with Picard.This is a great show, with plenty of laughs. The first four seasons are just untouchable, they're brilliant and you'll find yourself going back again and again. The other 3 are good but you'll find yourself going back to them less often. The packaging is a bit misleading as this is really series 1 to 8, with 2 episodes from series 9.The DVDs are really well presented, but as someone else has pointed out Fox do over do it with the copyright messages, as this is an expensive box set you don't need them nagging you about illegal downloads especially when you got it legitimately. Otherwise this is great, plenty of extras and deleted scenes, seriously, this could entertain you for the next 3 weeks every night.My favourite characters are Quagmire, Joe Swanson, Brian and Seamus, as they have some of the best lines, I also like the chicken who fights Peter.Well worth getting if you love watching this on TV, and don't have any of the box sets yet, go get it.

I came across Family Guy a few years back no on BBC Three. Didn't have a clue about it and tended to watch it because it was the last thing on the telly beofre bedtime. I cannot stop watching it now. It's a bit like Fawlty towers or Blackadder (not in content) in that I now know almost every line and can remember each episode that I've seen more or less from the start. Some of the cameos I don't understand but plenty of them, I do. I think the musical numbers are legendary.Being such a SciFi fan especially Star Trek and Star Wars, the constant references just make it all the better. If you like adult cartoon comedy I seriously recommend Family Guy. You'll be bursting with laughter for hours and with a saving of over a hundred pound it's a must buy.The box the dvd's are contained in is highly decorative but only basic. Your not paying to look at the box though its the hours of amazing comedy you'll get from this purchase. I can watch an episode over and over again and still find it funny.Overall I feel I can give this product 10/10.

No issues whatsoever, very fast delivery item actually arrived a few days earlier than stated.. very happy customer right now, we've already finished season 1 😂

I'm thoroughly annoyed that I have spent money on this box set when the title is misleading. It states that its a 1-9 boxset when it is in fact series one to mid season 8. The quality of the previous episodes are great and of course its very funny but still, I'm pretty sure its illegal to sell misleading titles.

Cute gift box for the series! I couldn’t buy a huge set with all of the series so had to buy the others separately

For someone like me who has just watched the odd episode on bbc3 this is a great boxset and at £49 a real bargin.So weather you are an avid watcher or someone (LIKE ME) who has watched it when youve remembered its on this is a must buy.Its a great boxset somethink i could watch over and over again family guy is amazing how they get away with some of there stuff is beyond meBuy it you wont be dissapointed:)

Was a good gift

Before 2008, I didn't really like this cartoon, I prefered The Simpsons. But after few hours watching it, I just couldn't stop to.
