Can you use it on silk ?

Unfortunately, no. The instructions on the back of the bottle say never to use it on silk, acetate (which it did mess up for me), and leather, carpeting or upholstery. Of course, oxyclean is the same way for silk. To me, dry cleaning, thelaundress online, or handwashing with Ivory Snow or Fels Naptha (which still may rinse off the sizing coating) is about the best for silk. Good luck!

Can you use this for my button on my jacket?

I would imagine you could, but it would depend what the button is made of.
