Top Quality!!!
I ordered a full lineup of Sea to Summit dry bags to see what would work best for my needs. This lineup included Ultra-Sil, lightweight, heavy duty, and big river bags with varying capabilities such as basic dry bags to eVac and compression bags. The sizes ranged from 8 Liters to 35 Liters, and the waterhead ranged from 2,000mm to 10,000mm.My conclusion was that ALL of the bags consisted of great quality. Before I get into the ***This Bag*** review section, here is an easy reference to help you match your needs to a bag. The middle of the road bags really met a great compromise on everything.Weight: If the weight of the bag, and the space the material of the bag takes up is your biggest concern, the Ultra-Sil bags are for you. In the sizes I ordered, it weighs as little as .135 ounces per liter (without eVac or compression). In comparison one of the heavy duty bags I ordered (with eVac and compression) came in at .98 ounces per liter. With the exception of that bag everything else was under .5 ounces per liter.Extreme Waterproofing: Any bag except the Ultra-Sil bag has a 10,000mm waterhead. The Ultra-Sil bag has a waterhead of 2,000mm.Durability/Ruggedness: The Big River and Heavy Duty bags were made from solid materials and it is apparent they will be able to handle more abuse than the other bags. These will probably be your picks for watersports. The bags step down in durability in accordance to their overall comparative weight.Material Space: The material space of the Ultra-Sil bag is almost nil. As you go up in durability and features, the material space will also go up. I don’t have an actual metric for this, but my pictures should be a good illustration of how some of the larger liter bags can actually take up less space than a smaller liter bag depending on the material used.Overall Space: eVac and compression technology. The eVac tech will allow you to push out dead air space, while the compression tech will continue to compress your puffy items. This is perfect for sleeping bags.Load Limit: The Heavy Duty and River bags can hold up to 220 pounds. This does not seem to vary with liter size, but is based on bag material alone. It is pretty incredible that the bags could handle that amount of weight. I’ll post a disclaimer that I did not test that out. In comparison one of the lightweight bags had a 33 pound limit.***This Bag***Olive Green 13 LiterThis 13 liter bag without eVac and compression actually weighs less than my 8 liter bag with eVac and compression. If you want something stronger than the Ultra-Sil that still keeps the weight down, this is it. This comes in around .22 ounces per liter. The bag itself is a great compromise between the Ultra-Sil bags and the heavy duty bags. The bag has a listed load limit of 33 pounds. The care instructions were printed directly on the white interior instead of on a tag like some other bags. This is my preference because I don’t have to cut it off, and I’ll never lose them.I really like the olive green, and wish Sea to Summit offered this in a camo pattern with the color scheme of this bag and the lettering. This bag will trap air because it does not come with the eVac bottom, but that means you save a little on weight. Just make sure to do a good job squeezing out the air before rolling it up. Also remember you are saving on weight without that added luxury! The only thing I have to say negative about this bag is the top came in with a v-shape bent into it due to the way it is boxed up. This was not uncommon across the bags, but was not found on all of the bags.

Handy dry bag but do not submerge
I ordered the 1.5 L size in the surf blue color for boating and lake use. Planning to use this bag to hold wallets and phones.Attractive fabric and design, as well as vivid surf blue color. Construction of clasp and roll top is good and seems very secure.Label inside product states “do not submerge” and “use two (2) dry bags for sensitive electronic equipment.“My initial expectation of this product was that it could be submerged. However, I realized when I sealed the bag and squeezed it, air still came out so I knew that this was not watertight. Therefore, this product is best used when bag might get splashed by water only.I also assumed it came with a strap so you could wear this bag across your body. It does not.Overall, at $17.95 for the 1.5 liter size, this is a reasonable price point for this product to protect whatever you need to store inside it from getting wet from splashing.

Good for light use around fresh water. Skeptical of extended use around salt water.
Likes:- Fabric feels sturdier than an old Sea to Summit drybag I had (a thinner ripstop nylon) which developed a few pinhole leaks over time. Feels lightweight, but not a delicate ultralight/featherweight fabric- Integrated bottom loop to attach a strap/etc (listed max load of 15 kg / 33 lbs, at least on the 5L size bag)- White interior does make it easier to see stuff inside, particularly with the yellow exterior which is slightly translucent- recycled fabricDislikes:- The “field repair buckle”, which basically has a stainless steel screw pin securing each side of the buckle to the roll top. Not much of a concern in the rain or fresh water and it does make for easy repairs (if you have an extra buckle and an appropriate screwdriver), but I’m assuming it’s bound to corrode over time around salt water. The classic all plastic buckle doesn’t have that issue and I doubt buckles break that often, so it feels like a solution in search of a problem.- The instructions specifying “Use two dry bags for sensitive electronic equipment” isn’t exactly confidence boosting, though does indicate how this line of bags is intended to be usedIn short, good for lightweight use around freshwater or as a secondary bag within another bag. For heavier usage, I’d look at a beefier material. For usage around salt water, I’d look at bags without any metal.
