Shakespeare Synergy TI Spincast Reel

I bought this reel for a catfish pole. Unfortunately it is a micro reel and would only be good for a bluegill pole. It seems to be well made and weight.

My Hysband like the reel

Have used Zebco 33s for years (older models) and wanted to try something new since my old ones are getting worn out. The past few models of Zebco 33 have been terrible (with the exception of the newest model). Love the look and feel of this new Shakespeare reel but reeling in the line is not smooth and is tight. It casts well but I don’t care for the retrieve action.

This is a very nice reel. Works great a lot better for me than an open face reel which always tangled. I enjoy this style of reel so much I I got rid of my open face reels and now I only use the closed face trigger spins. I own several different brands in different sizes. But my favorite one is the Shakespeare Synergy TI Spincast Reel. I even bought a Shakespeare Micro Series light action rod to go with it. I really like the Shakespeare reel I just wish they would make other trigger spins in different sizes.

Line clicker broke near immediately with a small plastic piece of it falling inside the reel and keeping the trigger from working properly. We're talking a tiny piece of metal smaller than the top of a pencil eraser. That said, once I removed it and reassembled the reel, it's working quite well. But it's a good budget reel for a kid to learn how to cast a typical spinning reel.

the screw that allows you to change handle from right to left is made of soft plastic...stripped immediately...shakespeare has gone to crap...china crap..

Perfect for the casual fisherman. Great spare for when you're brining company who doesn't fish often or is confident with a spinning reel or bait caster.

Like much better than the Zebco product

For less than 25 dollars this little reel is great. Hooked it up for a few practice casts , works great, the design and engineering that is instilled in it is well thought out . Plan to use it ice fishing this winter and for bass finess fishing this summer. All and all as stated this is a good bang for the buck.

Great for the price

Great quality and price. Took a little while to be delivered but worth the wait.
