TOPPING HS02 USB 2.0 Audio Isolator, USB B USB C Input High Speed Isolation

I am using a Topping E30II DAC in my BRZ and was bothered by the digital noise i could hear during low audio passages. I connected the HS02 into the dedicated 5VDC power line feeding my Topping. The digital noise was no longer audible. Impressed with the performance but not the price. Its a bit on the costly side but it works.

I never post Amazon reviews but this one deserves it. If you use a high performance PC and hear GPU whine through your audio system, especially with an audio interface in the chain, this might help. This little product completely solved my issue. I run a powerful setup with a Motu M2 interface, Blue Sona mic, 2000W audio system with D class mono blocks, and a top tier AMD build with a 5090 FE GPU on an Asus board. Every time I scrolled in Chrome or pushed the GPU with work or games, the noise would show up. I was ready to swap out all my cables and even replace the PSU. Instead, I plugged this in right before the Motu M2 USB C input and the noise disappeared. Gone completely. Thank you to the maker of this product. You saved me hours of work and a lot of money.

Digitally transparent, your PC or Mac won't even know this is there. I had the Intona Isolator, the pricier one not the cheapest one and it broke some of my DAC's ability to go over 24/96k. This works with all of my DAC's and allows full use of the resolutions on offer (including MQA and DSD). You may feel like it makes no difference if you didn't have "hum" or "buzz" or "noise" but if your DAC isn't galvanically isolated then this does make a difference. I notice because my powered speakers when set to full volume connected to my DAC as a preamp would hiss or have static. This was only at or near full volume. If I disconnected my DAC from my PC's USB and instead connected it to my phones USB (battery powered) the noise went away. In other words dirty power PC noise over USB was making it through. When I used my DAC to my headphone amp and headphones this was never audible. All the same once I put this between my PC and DAC the noise was gone and when using headphones it was even cleaner sounding with better spacial detail. I recommend these. Especially given how cheap they are. Though it's true, whether you notice the improvement or not will be system dependent but it definitely DOES do what it claims.

Ahh after years it finally solved my problem. This is the device for you if you have ground loop hum and/or coil whine from your source. Especially if you are a gamer, your pc is grounded and messing with your dac+amp. This got rid of all the noise, just.....nothingness now....even with the amp cranked to max. Seriously if you are plagued by a pc causing issues for your audio playback, get this. I did take one star away because the usb cable supplied was very flimsy and the tolerances were off on the usb-a side, it would wiggle in the port and cause the device to cut out.

Update: I replaced it with another unit. After approximately 24 hours of use, I haven't encountered any random failures so far. However, more time is needed to truly assess its reliability. I also noticed other reviews mentioning stability issues, so it seems this isn't an isolated case. I think I'll stick with a one-star rating because, as a USB isolator, its price is already one to two times higher than other brands. I've used several USB isolators from different brands and price ranges—either they work well, or they don’t. But this is the first time I've come across one with such instability, especially given that others have reported similar issues. For a product at this price point, it’s clear that quality control has not been adequately maintained. Unstable. When it works, it works well... but it stops working after about an hour. Other times, it lasts 3-4 hours. Each time, I have to restart my computer for it to work again. There's no other way.. Maybe I should try another one.

I recently added a Spark 40 amp to my setup, and as soon as I connected it to my computer via USB, I got a lot of computer noise through the Spark. When using both compression and boost on the Compadre pedal going into the Spark, the noise became absolutely intolerable. The first product I tried as a solution was the iDefender+ C > A which is supposed to be backward compatible with USB 2 but did not work with the Spark 40. I just received the HS02, connected it, and it works! The Spark 40 is detected, and there is very little computer noise with both compression and boost engaged on the Compadre pedal which naturally adds a fair amount of other noise anyway. With only compression engaged, the noise is very quiet, and with only boost or neither compression nor boost, the noise is pretty much inaudible. By the way, I have found that without connecting any additional power, the HS02 is able to supply sufficient power for a small hub with 2 self-powered devices connected to the hub. The unit is smaller than it seems in the picture, and It is not getting in the way of other things on my desk. Since I just received the HS02, I can not yet say anything about its long-term reliability. Its build quality seems good though. USB plugs fit smoothly and snugly, and the case is obviously not in any danger of ever coming apart.

I have a spectrum analyzer hooked up as part of my speaker chain—it’s fed directly from the RCA output of my preamp (the power amps are fed from the XLR output). I was seeing noise occur on the spectrum analyzer whenever the streamer was busy or loaded (such as when scrolling long playlists and such). I read some of the other reviews stating that this device eliminated the noise they were seeing from their sources (usually PCs set up as streamers), so I figured I’d get one and give it a try. It came in, I hooked it up between my streamer and my DAC, and fired it up. Well golly-gee-Willy, it really worked! Zero noise showing up on my spectrum analyzer no matter how crazy I got on the streamer controls! To make sure I wasn’t crazy, I removed it and the noise came back, so this thing legitimately eliminated electronic noise from passing to the DAC from the source!

I was dealing with GPU noise from my NVIDIA RTX 3060 12GB when a game was running with both my iFi Zen Air DAC and also my Topping DX3 Pro+. The reason is because my headphone amp is a valve/tube amp so it must be earthed due to the very high voltages, and this meant there was a ground loop with the noise from my PC. I tried the usual tricks of putting everything on the same extension lead, which while it did reduce the noise, it did not eliminate it and that was problematic when using my Beyerdynamic DT990 Edition 600 Ohm headphones. So I went ahead and got this USB isolator since it supports USB 2.0 hi-speed (so it should actually handle above PCM768 @ 32-bit and DSD512/48 without issues, but I do not have a DAC capable of going higher to test). While it was working, and the computer noise was ENTIRELY eliminated, I was getting random and very often cutouts from the audio. Windows and Audirvana could still 'see' the DAC, just that the audio stream was getting cut off for some reason. This was plugged into one of the USB 3.0 ports (*just* 3.0, not Gen 1 or higher). I decided to try plugging it into a USB 2.0 port as I do know there can be compatibility issues with 3.0 ports, and I also shortened the cable to 1.5m. This totally fixed the issue I was having, and now I can easily send PCM768/DSD512 to the Topping without any dropouts of any kind. The iFi also handles DSD256 without any issue too. Even new motherboards released today have USB 2.0 ports specifically because 3.0 (and higher) can't always handle 2.0 devices correctly, and after reading the datasheet for the USB isolator chip they're using, it is very specifically for 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0, and requires incredible precision on the circuit layout to work correctly - this is one reason why this is expensive. So it gets 5 stars because not only did it entirely eliminate the GPU noise, but the big improvement in the noise floor seems to have given the valve/tube amp a bit more room to breathe, as I noticed a subtle improvement in the attack of synthesizer sounds. Your mileage will vary here obviously, such as how well trained your ears are, what gear you're using and what audio format you're using.

Llegó a tiempo. Este aislador resolvió el problema de pops que emitia mi tarjeta gráfica al iniciar juegos, hacia mi dac ifi zen 3. Solo por diversión, use audirvana para hacer upsampling a dsd512 para ver cómo actuaba: no hubo lag de ningún tipo, y se comportó tal como lo estipulado en sus afirmaciones. Subjetivamente puedo decir que mejoro el fondo negro de mi cadena de audio. En cuanto su duración, solo el tiempo dirá. De momento estoy satisfecho con este producto.

Fonctionne bien pour enlever tout les bruits parasites dans le son dues à une mauvaise alimentation électrique. Isolation de la terre. Par contre, avec une carte son, le bruit revient quand tu branches un instrument dans la carte son pour enregistrer….. Le prix est également exorbitant pour un si petit boîtier avec quelques fils à l’intérieur….

This completely solved the high pitch whine coming out of my KRK Rokit 5 monitor speakers. USB noise coming from PC/GPU was the source. My understanding is this thing severs the power signal from the PC USB and transmits and cleans only the data signal. Clean external 5V USB C power source supplies clean power for the output to the USB powered device. Here's my equipment and routing now FYI: PC USB --> HS02 (with separate 5V USB C power source) --> Roland Duo Capture EX audio device --> KRK Rokit 5 monitor speakers (TRS balanced 1/4" patch cables). PC and monitor speakers all plugged into the same power bar. A bit on the expensive side and this thing is smaller than I had imagined, but worth it to eliminate the noise to keep my mental stability.
