This is a great product, they used these in the hospital on my lipidema legs. The algae part helps absorb a little more and the silver part helps you to keep infection away. You can cut the piece of smaller and stick them inside of a Band-Aid. But when my legs were totally raw from months of seeping liquid, they just surrounded my leg with these 4 inch squares. I just use small pieces for maintenance now.

I have to admit that I had my doubts about this stuff. I'm not the type of guy who buys the latest healthcare fads, having successfully avoided St. John's wort, kale, etc. When my husband's podiatrist recommended a brandname of this to help a slow-healing wound, I raised an eyebrow but decided to give it a try. When we couldn't find or get the brand name, he said to look for silver alginate, so I ordered this.This stuff absolutely helped things heal faster. It is absorbent, so excess fluids that might seep from a wound are absorbed. According to my husband's doctor, it also stimulates re-growth of skin tissues to help the wound close better. All I can say for sure is that we saw a difference very quickly.We have since used it other times my elderly husband's fragile skin has ripped, and this helps the wounds heal quickly and cleanly. It sometimes sticks to the wound, but taking a shower or something like that will soften things so that it comes off easily for changing.All that said, this is a medical product, so you should listen to what your doctor/practitioner says and follow their instructions.

I had a quarter sized ulcer on my foot. It was not healing for months. My doctor was suggesting surgery. A nurse recommended these to me. The first week I started using these in the wound dressing it began to heal. It took several months, but it got better steadily. Now it is completely healed. My podiatrist called it miraculous. They really help with wound care. These are quite expensive to change every day for months. But I feel it was completely worth every penny.

I bought him these gauze to prevent the dripping of his sores on his leg and that he stays clean and it turned out better than I expected, if you are looking for a product so that the wound area remains clean and is easy to remove for healing and prevent it from getting infected, it is not annoying when removing it
