Q: Can these be worn in the water?

I don't know the "official" answer- but I would not wear them in the water. Might shrink or stretch out and they fit my foot perfectly now. Says they are made for athletics.

Q: Are these good for really LONG City walking days? Going to Japan, and want to know if it would be ok walking about 8 miles a day?

They are very comfortable and supportive. However, if you are going from box to the 8 hour day walk might not be the best way to break them in.
