Very pleased with the product
Very pleased with the purchase. Working perfectly to monitor a new owl nest in our tree. I climbed ladder and disturbed the owl slightly but got it in a perfect location. Here are some key points: Battery: I am getting 8 days with no solar attachment. It’s in a tree so very little sunlight and the squirrels would just chew the wire. This is less than advertised but exceeded my needs. I just dangled a power cord down the tree and put the USB C adapter in a waterproof container. Then I just plug it in once a week. That is with about 100 detections a day recording each for 8 seconds. Your mileage with your settings will vary. Charges back to 100% in 6 hours. Maybe someday I will have a use for the solar panel. Storage: I have used 12GB in two weeks with 100 detections a day each for 8 seconds. It’s a 128GB card…..way overkill. Infra-Red: The Infrared at night is the best clarity for my use looking into the dark nest. I was not entirely sure looking at the specs that it had infra-red capability. Sensitivity: It took a few days fiddling with the settings to get the right triggers. The non-detection mask is critical for avoiding false triggers with leaves and such. Capture: Keep in mind that these battery powered cameras cannot capture the first couple seconds of activity like a wired NVR system can. To save battery they go into idle mode and wake up on detection. I see some complaints about this but I can’t ding the product for this unless I was OK with a 6 hour battery life to stay active all the time. NVR Integration: In short, no, you cannot record the recordings to your NVR (if you have one). But as a consolation, the camera shows up in the phone and desktop app, right next to the other cameras. Just be aware the recordings are coming from the SD card on the camera, and take a little more time to retrieve. Water: We have a couple torrential downpours. No issue yet after two weeks. Very Pleased.

REOLINK First 4K Solar Security Cameras Wireless Outdoor, Argus PT Ultra+Solar Panel
The PT Ultra is a Great improvement over the PT, we have 50 of these cameras in our Family (3 Homes and Shops) and have only had two failures out of 50. They are easy to set up, have Great Battery life, clear pictures. We wait to buy them on Sale usually around 15% off. The only negitive is you have to buy the NVR and Cameras that will work with the NVR to monitor them 24/7 as these cameras will go off to save on the Battery after about a minute or two and you have to reload them to monitor them even if you run a wall wart to run them instead of the solar panel. Also you have to remember wirless cameras are slower to pickup moving objects, nature of the beast. We set them up around our 5 acres with wireless extenders for our routers and they work Great for us.

The first Reolink product I've ever been ENTIRELY disappointed with.
First off, in order to make this camera in any way reasonably useful, you've got to buy their Home Hub or Home Hub Pro, an additional purchase that they don't tell you upfront is kinda sorta necessary for this camera to work as intended and advertised, even if you have your own NVR setup. Using it in standalone mode with any other NVR is terribly unreliable. So, I ended up buying the damn Home Hub, too, creating a second redundant NVR on my network for no good reason. Second, their claims of four-month battery life is if the camera never does a damn thing ever. The puny-ass 5-watt solar panel they include with the camera is worthless and cannot sustain the camera for 24-hour operation with even the lightest of usage settings in anything other than the blaring hot sun of an 18-hour desert day. I've had this camera installed for two weeks now; it dies every evening by 8pm, and doesn't power back on again until nearly noon the next day, despite getting 6+ hours of direct TEXAS sun every day! I've watched the battery levels drop while the sun was blaring directly at the panel. It's absurd that they thought this panel was enough, combined with the sneaky hub requirements, and I feel scammed. In testing, and then finally getting around to installing this camera, I've elapsed my 30 day return window. So I'm stuck with it. My options are to run a power cable all the way out to the camera (defeating the damned point of a solar powered camera), or install a larger solar panel, which Reolink will happily sell me for an upcharge. I should have just installed another POE camera and been done with it. I'll never buy another one of Reolink's wireless products again. I've been a customer for years, and their wired products are excellent. Avoid this wireless garbage; it's a rabbit hole of upsells and pure disappointment.

Easy set up and easy install
So far so good as I just got it installed. I had a bit of a problem as the roof, gutters and downspouts are all metal and the area where I wanted to install it would not receive a Wi-Fi signal as the metal blocked the signal, ever with a Wi-Fi extender. I have a 2.4 Ghz router and highly recommend a 5 Ghz router for best performance.

Good camera with some limitations
I bought this as a secondary camera to monitor our backyard/detached garage/driveway in addition to the POE hard-wired Reolink camera that monitors the front of the house. The setup is easy, though I had a difficult time scanning the setup QR code outdoors. I did eventually get it to work without having to take the camera indoors, however. I used a high endurance name-brand 256GB SD card which the camera recognized and formatted with no issues. So far the solar charging is working great -- the camera has never been at less than 100% charge, even after running overnite. The wifi connection has also been very stable and strong, which I thought may be an issue after reading some reviews, and knowing our lead filled 100 year old house generally has poor signal outdoors. The 4k recording is excellent, the clarity is quite a bit better than our front door cam which is a couple of years older and maybe a 2k model? The picture is very sharp and clear. The Reolink software is highly customizable for alerts and notifications as well. We have three dogs, and my wife works from home frequently, so I have it setup so I don't get alerts for animals or people on certain days/hours to avoid unnecessary notifications. The downsides to this camera are it doesn't allow for continuous recording, which, as a secondary camera, isn't a big deal. I wish this would have been clearer in the description, though. The second issue is the camera doesn't track motion. Being a motorized camera, I assumed it would, again I wish this would have been clearer in the description. I maybe would have gone with a fixed wide angle camera instead. All in all a good product and excellent, customizable software. Really appreciate that there is NO SUBCRIPTION required to use the camera to it's full potential. I recently added a Reolink hub which has proved to be an excellent addition with multiple cameras, and was similarly easy to setup and use.

ROCK STAR!
I don't do reviews often, but have to share this one. This camera is good. Solar is solid. Charges up as stated. I used to have those cheaper off shore knock offs that amazon sells but they never supported the 5.2GHZ channel, only the 2.4GHZ channel so they kept disconnecting and drove me up the wall. This one pairs quickly with your 5.2 GHZ WIFI and unlike the knockoffs who direct you to a 3rd party app, this camera has its own app made by its own dev. So check it out if you are looking to replace aging equipment. This is connected to my WIFI and the up to StarkLink. No LAG. They have SW clients for windows, IOS, and android

Best solar camera out there but far from perfect
Best wireless camera we have used but far from perfect. If we could go back in time we'd have bought PoE's for 24 hour surveillance because wireless cameras will never be sufficient for a truly reliable surveillance system. The motion detection is spotty and there are instances when it fails to record even when someone walks directly in front of it and despite the event icon being displayed on the live view. This occurs even when the sensitivity is completely maxed out and all recording events are enabled. This intermittent failure to record is consistent throughout all 10 cameras we have. The solar panel is small and unless you completely disable all the features it will simply not be able to keep the camera charged even in climates with ample sunlight. Tried to use them with the NVR but there is a delay before it starts recording which ends up cutting out the most important footage so all you ever see is the person walking away in the distance. We've owned a few solar IP cameras but they have always been unreliable with terrible software but this one has pretty robust software albeit not perfect. Installation is simple and streamlined. The battery is built into the camera housing and not the solar panel as our previous cameras which is nice because you can essentially use it as a portable camera or you can simply plug it in via USB-C instead of using the solar panel. Not sure if the batteries are replaceable but would remove another star if it's not. It has the option to turn off LED's for more stealthy surveillance. One of the cameras we had needed to be replaced because right out of the box it would not charge.

Great product, works very well
Great product works exactly as described even though it’s placed on a more sheltered side of the house. Battery 100% every night regardless. The ability to adjust the motion sensitivity is a huge plus also.

Cannot format SD Card
The camera arrived on schedule and the setup was normal like most other video cameras that I have setup before. However one thing caught me off guard. I was opting to go for higher capacity sd card and so chose the 64GB type. However when I tried to format the card, the camera refused to recognise. The card have been tested on the PC and it was working fine. Only after searching on the web, then I was informed that most video cameras still use the old storage format of FAT32 which limits it to only 32GB. Therefore if you format you card to exFAT on the PC, it will not recognise it. And the Windows PC internal app can only format exFAT for storage greater than 32GB. You will need to find an external third party tool to format to FAT32. There is a free tool DiskGenius which you can download to use. My take to Reolink, the product is good (like many others TAPO, TP-Link etc). In order to stand out you may want to upgrade your firmware since capacity size is increasing and 32GB is really minimal. For that I give 3 stars.

Be careful, hope you don’t need warranty
The product itself is in a bad product. This is my third Reolink camera purchased however, service from Reolink is bad. They’ll try and set you up over the phone which that service was good then came a warranty issue with trying to the solar panel because it would not charge. That is a hassle. They ask you on the phone for order numbers from Amazon to prove that you purchased it from them and that’s OK but then after. They go to submit the the claim then you go through another process with their claims department, which asks for screenshots and printed copies and instructions of how to get it all and just a thorough pain in the butt when they already have the order number and they know that it was purchased through Amazon because they were able to view it. I submitted a screenshot with both my invoice number and showing purchased from real link direct and hoping that this will be sufficient in the meantime, I have to take the camera off the stand charge it up inside the house then when charge go put it back on the stand and hopefully it’ll last for two or three more days before it needs charge again. In the meantime, real link is screwing around with trying to get all the proper information so that they make sure they’re not getting screwed and this can take months. I hope it doesn’t.
