Rolson 66728 24 x 1000 mm Heavy Duty Bicycle Cable Lock

I initially was happy with the quality of product and have had 8 months of use but the locking mechanism has become increasingly jammed until the point where I can no longer use key to unpin the lock. The narrow piece of movable yellow plastic is insufficient to keep the lock protected from debris and rain. I am, however grateful for the 8 months of use but I really need a padlock that is more enduring. Have tried to unpick the lock with WD40 and various tools without success. Maybe a locksmith will help but I doubt this padlock will be re-usable.

This item is great, just would have loved a longer version of it, as I can barely use it in order to lock my motorcycle.

Fine for infrequent use with a relatively inexpensive bike but would not recommend as a heavy duty durable lock.I have had a similar experience as other reviewers with this lock. For me it held together for about a year of daily use and then the plastic casing tore away and the inner steel cable became exposed which is quite thin and easily cuttable. My girlfriend bought one at a similar time and hers is still working fine but she uses it much less frequently than me and keeps her bike indoors most of the time. Overall I think it is OK value but would have expected it to last a bit longer than a year.Pros:- Decent length- Flexible- Robust locking mechanism- My low/mid range bike never got stolen while using itCons:- Degrades over time (see above and other reviews pictured)- Only 1 spare key

I seem to have gone through quite a few bike locks in my time. This is easily the best. Strong enough for the 'average' bike and a decent length. The best thing (unlike many locks) is that you don't have to have the key in the lock in order to lock it - or leave it in the lock when it's unlocked. And it always unlocks very smoothly. I was considering giving it 4 stars because it only comes with two keys. But on second thoughts, I thought this mean. The key can be attached to my key ring - so there is very little chance of it getting lost

a well made lock that is only slightly let down by the plastic cover over the key hole. a very good idea to protect the key hole from the elements but the cover is made of a brittle plastic. I dropped the lock when I was unlocking my bike and cracked it in the first week. If I had the choice I would make it of soft silicone to provide protection and withstand heavy use.

Got this for my partner after getting him a new bike. As he rides it to / from work I wanted to get a 'serious' bike lock that was not only really strong and sturdy but would look like it was as well to put any thieves off. This definitely does the trick. It's got a good weight to it, is easy to use and makes us both feel better knowing it's securing his bike!

Purchased this for friend. Good bike lock.
