Ok people. As a 70 year old White male I was able to have this little gem set up and operating in two minutes. Where has this little beauty been all my working career. Its lovely. Easy to set up, it came with batteries and the instructions are a breeze. The ability to set the alarm to one of five soft playing music tunes ,plus control the volume is the high point No more glaring buzz or bell ringing. The alarms set switch on/off it easy to locate. I would have paid up to have had this on my nightstand when I was still holding down a job. Its a find looking sort of retro style analog devise. I selected the Black/White model.As an old poop that has survived stoke, this was simple to setup and easy to read and set. FIVE STARS any day of the week. Its a good good value. Love this alarm clock. I was looking for a pleasant to wake up to alarm. The options for the alarm sounds are wonderful: Canon, which is a lovely classical music bit, is so gentle to wake up to, as are the others, a little soft kenny g, a chinese folksong - which is surprisingly nice, plus a few others, and of course there is a standard beeping one. You can also adjust the level of volume of the one you choose with easy, simple turn knobs on the front. The clock face is not lit unless in the middle of the night you wake up and want to see the time, in that case you just touch the top of the clock button, the clock will light up for a couple seconds so you can see the time, then it goes dark again. The only thing to remember is when you set the alarm and time dials on the back of the clock, make sure to go in the direction of the arrows when setting the time, or the alarm time, otherwise it can damage the clock. The arrows are small so look carefully. I put on my cheaters and could see the arrows just fine.You know how you wish they would design products that have really well thought out options. This clock is one of them. Kudos to whom ever designed this. I might buy a second one to have on hand in case they stop making these. They include 3 AA batteries. On top of all that, it is a really nice looking clock. I wasn't sure I would, but I really like the soft green color.

What a perfect little clock! This is easy to set, uses batteries, only which is good in case your power goes out or you travel someplace where there’s no electrical outlet, and it has several nice alarm tones, many of which are musical. There’s also one of chirping birds that I like. This clock is preferable to one with a jarring, loud beep.

Several years ago, I bought this fantastic, excellent, well-made, lovely music alarm clock. It has been my loyal "friend" at my bedside. I have taken this alarm clock on many trips and would hate to be without it. It wakes me up gently and not with that horrid adrenaline rush some alarms give or the ones you keep hitting snooze until you end up late for an appointment. This one is great for checking the time during the night and easy to hit the top, and a soft light comes on for a few seconds. This clock has kept the time very well, and I have only had to change the batteries about once a year. Recently, after I accidentally dropped it, the second hand came off and now sits inside the lens loose and rattles if I move it. It does not interfere with the clock's workings, but it was time for a new one. I was afraid I may not find it on Amazon but it is still here! Get this little sweet gem of a clock...you won't be disappointed.Update: I had to knock one star off. I am now on my 3rd clock and still love it, BUT I wish it were made better. If it is dropped, the hands will come off. I recently dropped mine after fumbling in the dark to check the time (no, the glow in the glow-in-the-dark hands does not work), and it fell off my bedstand. The alarm hand came off inside the lens, and I can not see a way to take it apart to repair it.

Unique features about this alarm clock -1. Volume can be controlled, I do not like waking up to a loud alarm, I can dial it down to the softest sound.2. You can choose from different melodies, and all of them are extremely pleasant3. It is backlit, easy to read, but no glare4. Noiseless and doesn't bother you at nightWhy the manufacturer would not take this product and design it into something modern and fabulous is something I cannot figure out. This is an excellent clock, the design is simple but not super fashionable. We find several products in the market these days which look great but function poorly. This is the opposite of that. The core product is really good quality, which leaves me to wonder why there isn't a kid's cute design, or a mid-century modern or contemporary modern version of this clock available. It would then fly off the shelves.If I had to buy a super functional alarm clock for any friend or family, I would choose this again and again. Highly recommend.

Already have it set up and wow I just love it & it came with 3 AAA batteries just awesome! The 7 sounds are quite nice for an alarm! The last 2 alarms I got 1 didn’t last 6 months the other alarm never worked and stopped within a week , yes fresh batteries! So I am loving this alarm clock as so far great looking, sounding and easy to use!!!! Thank you!

It doesn't tick.It doesn't have a constant light on; a quick press on top (same as snooze button) lights the screen briefly to show time.It has a "quiet" alarm that doesn't shock you awake; which also has a volume controlIt has a classic screen, not digitalBig enough to see, but not too bigBattery-operated, so no need for cordsThought I'd love this clock when I discovered it on Amazon (quiet alarm clock), and it's even better than portrayed.
