Excellent mouse and very handy as a portable scanner. Very easy to instal on my Mac computers and was used for scanning A3 sized plans which it did well on the medium intensity scan. It ran out of memory on a high quality scan but OK results with medium scan. I don't know why anyone hasn't thought of a scanner mouse before. The included software is OK but I found that some additional editing of the images was required using another software package.

This is a great way of saving time. Having to scan thousands of old photos made me put off the task for years. The thought of lining each one up individually in any flatbed scanner filled me with dread, as it would have taken hundreds of hours. For many years it didn't get done at all & the photos remained out of sight in a big box.I saw this scanner mouse on QVC & it seemed to be the answer, so I bought one. Setup on Windows 8.1, Windows 7 & Windows Vista is easy & it works well on these operating systems. It can recognise text & convert to Word or Excel, PNG & PDF as well as JPEG. Scanning a small photo takes around 10 seconds at up to 300dpi. The easy-to-use software lets you crop & rotate as well as altering Hue, Saturation, Brightness & Contrast. It's simple to use & you can always use Photoshop, etc for any further manipulation. I particularly like the way it sorts out my clumsy attempts at scanning in a straight line by straightening up the image automatically. Of course, it's a mouse too, so you just use this function for editing & scrolling without having to change to your regular mouse.I found out that it's best to keep the photo as still as possible during scanning to avoid having to repeat the process, so I have a little bit of double-sided tape on my desk to hold the photo in place. This works really well & doesn't affect the photos either. Blu-Tack would probably work as an alternative.There are a couple of downsides to the device: first, 300dpi is not as high a resolution as I would have liked, but it's just enough for my purposes. Next, the mouse has to see defined edges within a photo, so some photos just won't scan correctly (Flatbed scanner time for these ones). The USB cable does get in the way too, so a cordless version would be better, although I couldn't find one anywhere.Scanning text is simple & you can alter the wording within the scanned image as a Word document (I use Office 2007 & it works well with that). The QVC video shows that it does the same job with Excel spreadsheets, but I haven't tried this yet.It's well worth the money, & if a cordless version comes out I think it should be a Five-star device.

Does exactly what it says .

Useless, it just does scan. The mouse is to big to get to text in the folds of a book. Even when it does scan it isn't usable it jumps all over the the place so no text is actually legible. I have returned.

I bought it for my son doing GCSC. He just loves it. He can scan the questions (and/or pictures) in his book, add it One Note (Microsoft Office) and writes the answers along side each question. Does the job it says.

Difficulty installing on my laptop running Win7 but after much cursing changed the compatability mode XP. It now runs reasonably well but does take a lot of practice.

Absolutely love device!Scans well without need to leave computer. Zooms in at high resolution with rolling wheel without pixels evident. Simple scan button on side pressed initiates software on laptop and mouse lights up. You watch the scan in process in real time. Can copy scan directly to any other file immediately.Only gripe was the website lacking download link for mac until numerous emails they at Iris gave the secret link when I had to prove purchase by sending photo proof of purchase, as though there are people who would illegitimately try to attain the link, I suppose it is for security but, all other links were on the website except the mac one. Comes with dvd/cd installation anyway but, latest laptops are without disk drives now. 5 stars otherwise.There's LG version; may not have as good LED effects. This mouse comes with little pouch, tiny cleaning cloth and quick read manual. Needs USB port.

Mon fils de 6 ans en est fan. Il l’a prise en main très facilement.Cette souris permet de rendre les ludique l’apprentissage de la lecture et surtout lui permet de ne pas décrocher et en CE1, car il est dyspraxie.

PROS:+ Works great on Windows 10.+ Quick setup process.+ Scanning a small document takes less than 20 seconds from start to finish.+ Great quality images.+ Color is good.+ Lightweight.+ Built-in editing tools is great and super fast.CONS:+ Scanning large documents feels clunky and slower than a traditional scanner.VERY VERY fast and easy to use for smaller documents such as receipts, playing cards, business cards, photos sticky notes, etc. Much faster than trying to use a traditional scanner for these kinds of things. Also great if you only care to scan a tiny portion of a larger document.
