Good results with this and fairly easy to use.
I shall have to practice using this copier to get better results but so far the outcome is a lot better than using scanners. The only thing I find a little frustrating is that the diffuser box that holds the slide turns when focusing but that's not the fault of the copier. I also think it is better to use a macro lens but I don't have one. The instructions say use manual focus but it is both easier and more accurate to use autofocus.I am glad I didn't pay £80 for a copier because I can't see how they could be any better. The barrel of the copier is metal and the overall build quality is good. I recommend this over slide scanners.

Very good alternative for expensive scanners.
I had a scanner wich costed 3 times the amount for this duplicator. With the scanner i had to install software first and the results were considerably worse than with this duplicater. The Polaroid is easy to use and fit with any SLR with 52 or 58 mm thread. With my Nikon D3100 with 15-55mm lens there was absolutely no problem with the use. For best results it is recomendable to use it in skylight day conditions. I already duplicated numerous slides and printed a few out on A4 format with a very good result. Absolutely no blurry pictures. The optical lens is detachable and a ring for 52 to 58 mm thread is included. It's perhaps not 100% professional gear but is absolutely value for money.

Using this technique is very good, you can get exact image of your slides
Using this technique is very good, you can get exact image of your slides, I can say better than the expensive slide scanners. But the kit it very fiddly and touchy, the slide holder is very loose and needs adjusting with every slideWhole thing needs to be fixed on a firm base , when hand held slides wobbles in the slide holderRemoving the lens from it and using bellows in front of the lens is very useful and can be adapted to any cameraThe picture shown by OJT above/below is one of the best set up, with this set up I put it in front of the monitor with white screen, or a different screen if it has too much light, and worked very nicelyBut as I said it is too fiddle hence three starts, but picture quality is 5 stars

Disappointed with results
As I had a bit of time on my hands I thought I would digitise my colllection of the best of 350 dated slides. I have acces to a Pansonic 'bridge' camera, and a canon DSLR. The device simply screws into the filter thread at the end of the lens. With either camera with a variety of manual or auto settings the results were difficult to focus and difficult to obtain an acceptable contrast. Realistically perhaps I was expecting too much, but I did not feel that the resultant images were good enough to view on screen or even to print at 4x6. Reading reviews other users seem to have had more joy with the same kit, but I have sent mine back for a refund.

Well worth buying.
Fitted easily to my Nikon D5200 on the18-55 lens, inserted the slide, pointed at light source and took the picture. Results were far better than I had achieved with a previous slide copier that was linked direct to my computer. This copier allows versatility e.g. camera in automatic mode or aperture priority for optimum F setting. Exposure can be adjusted on the camera to compensate for dark or washed-out slides.I am now copying all my old slides on to an SD card for easy viewing.A versatile slide copier that gives good results at a reasonable price.Well worth buying.

Two Stars
Slow to use and did not give very good results

Excellent
This is an excellent device. I can record everything that is on the film and it's fast to work with. The Canon 18-55mm kit lens works file, but the 50mm/1.8 lens can't be used since the slide is outside the focus range.

The best way to digitize old slides
Using Nikon D810 + Nikon 105mm macro lens + studio flash with soft box as light source to digitize old slides. Getting better quality & smaller files with 14-bit colors compared to scanned images with Canoscan 9000F and Silverfast software. And it is a lot faster process too. Naturally need to be carefull with dust removal & handling + post processing in Photoshop. Bought this + couple extensions tubes & step up/step down ring set. The built-in lens is useless & broke it to pieces as I needed the holder as a extension tube. The slide holder adjustments could be better - no click stop when the slide is in the middle and no lock for the up/down movement + no tightness adjustment ( a bit too loose for my taste). Value for money - excellent.
