These are great pencils. I am somewhat new to coloring in coloring books. It is amazing how relaxing and therapeutic it is after a long day at work. Now that I have tried it, I am hooked. I looked at a lot of different pencil choices and decided to try these. I am glad I did!! They colors are beautiful first of all and there are enough colors that I have all I need. The pencils color with a very smooth finish. They do not easily smear. I even really like the feel of this pencil in my hand. They sharpen nicely and are easy to sharpen. They might cost a little more than the pencils you usually find in places like Walmart and Target but they are worth the extra few dollars. I am really happy with the way my coloring pages turn out using these pencils. I would definitely buy these again and highly recommend them. Anyone who needs to unwind at the end of the day should try coloring! You might be amazed by how much you enjoy it.

Great Value and Product.
My go to favorite colored pencils for adult coloring books is Staedtler Ergosoft. I was looking for more colors and found these. I spent a couple hours testing this set this afternoon. I am glad I ordered more than one set. These will now be added to my 24 Ergosoft set for a larger variety of colors. I really like the feel of this set. The colors are bright. Even pressing very hard did not create the waxy lumps that I sometimes get with the Ergosofts. I would prefer the triangle shape but for the price and quality of these pencils I feel that they are a great value. I am very glad that I bought a backup replacement set. I will be using them often.

Quality Adult Coloring Pencils
I read a lot of reviews on the web on colored pencils in order to get a quality colored pencil that worked nicely for shading and blending. With these pencils you do not have to press so hard that you have to color over an area a few times to get the color you want on the page. These are a medium softness and work wonderfully. They sharpen nicely without gumming up the sharpener too. I bought a canvas rolled case to put them in so the tips are protected from breaking. The funny thing I found is that these pencils do not have numbers nor color names printed on them so if you want to expand your set you may have a hard time finding the new colors. I found 36 colors to be perfect amount to get a variety of shades and colors. I originally bought another less expensive brand pencil set and was not happy because they were so hard.

Good procuct for a good price
I should preface this with my lack of experience with colored pencils, not having used them since the 8th grade... I just started "coloring" again at 45. I swear I spent over an hour researching cost, brand, etc. (JUST for pencils!!) and found that, for the purpose I sought the pencils, this pack was a good cost for #of pencils and the brand seemed reputable. The variety of colors is nice, I like that there are neutrals included. I want to try coloring skin-tones so the diversity of neutrals is beneficial. The only issue I have is that I find that these are very hard. If you want anything more than a very watered-down version of the color, you have to press firmly which can make your hand cramp up after a while. I don't know if all colored pencils are like this. Other than the hand/finger cramping (I do have a bit of arthritis so I may just have to learn to deal with this if all colored pencils are this hard) I would say that the ability to get so many different color levels out of a pencil based on the amount of pressure you use was a pretty neat discovery for me. All in all I like the pencils, and look forward to trying other Staedtler products.

Love my Staedtler Noris Clubs!!!!!
Love my Staedtler Noris Club!!! They are a harder core, non-waxy and for a beginner like me, not bad to blend with. The 36 count gives you a pretty good color selection, there are times when I wish they came in a larger selection like the very expensive derwents and prismacolors. I bet they would be a huge seller if they gave a larger range of color. They are definatly better than Crayola in the fact that the cores do not break everytime you look at them. They sharpen to a nice point (that will break with too much preassure like with all pencils) to get into the tiny areas you may have to color. All in all I will buy again when the time comes to replace these as they were down, but I am predicting that to be a while from now. Happy coloring everyone! 🎨☺

i do not like them
It seems like most of the reviews here are quite positive, so I am a little bit hesitant to voice my more negative opinion. Perhaps my experience is one of an amateur so I am seeking different results than others. My usage is mainly for coloring in rubber stamped images. So, while I am not a professional, I have been stamping for 20 years and I have tried many colored pencils. My hands now are seriously arthritic, so I seek out pencils that don't require me to press down hard to get color. I find the lead in these pencils to be hard and waxy. Great from the perspective of them not breaking, but I find the super hard lead to be stingy to release their color. They are so hard they actually seem to resist being sharpened in both an electric and manual sharpener. To get a deep layer of color, one has to press very firmly. Then the pencil appears shiny and there are pencil indentation lines on the paper or cardstock. On a positive note, these pencils can blend very well with a Dove blender. My recommendation is that one needs a very light touch and must hold the pencil on its side to use the side of the pencil versus the point of the pencil for best results. I would prefer to wrestle with a set of exasperating pencils prone to breakage (Prismacolors) than to buy these again. My children have Crayola colored pencils that I like better. Go figure.

High quality with anti-break feature; great value
These colored pencils are inexpensive yet high quality. The outside is shiny coating that's fun to hold. Just holding them makes me feel creative. The color core on the inside is coated with some white plastic that reduces breakage. They are your basic colored pencils, so the core isn't extremely soft and you can do a lot of light shading work or dark lines. They do not have erasers on the ends. It performs like a pencil and not a pastel hybrid. Great value for the price. I would recommend it as a starter set gift or for school work.

Well...phooey.
I was on the verge of giving these watercolor pencils a terrible review. The colors barely dissolve at all! Then I realized that they're not watercolor pencils. lol As cheap colored pencils go, these are great, like most other Staedtler stuff! They lay down smooth and cover well, good blending. All the things you want from colored pencils. They're terrible watercolor pencils though. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :P Excellent stuff, they'll go in my pencil box for when I need a colored pencil. Back to the wet work for me!
