ASUS VivoBook E403NA-US04 Thin and Lightweight 14” FHD Laptop, Intel Celeron N3350 Processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC Storage, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, USB-C, Windows 10

This is a very basic computer. It runs extremely slowly once you've got more than 2 Chrome tabs open - I have to keep Outlook and Excel open in the background for work, and as soon as I start opening more tabs it grinds to a halt when opening new pages. I had to buy a cheap Windows 10 laptop for a short term gig; jury's out if I'll be returning this after the gig ends or keeping it just because it's so darn cheap.I think it would be fine if you never multitasked, like if you used this for streaming videos, or just editing Excel spreadsheets with nothing else open, or showing your grandma some photos. Or, maybe you could upgrade the RAM and Hard Drive with more space - that might speed it up, but if you're spending $150 more on accessorizing just buy a better laptop for $450 to start with!The best features are that it's lightweight and I do like the keyboard layout of Asus.One slightly annoying thing is that even though it has a USB C port - you cannot use it to charge!!!! HUH?!?!! They send a proprietary charger instead. This would be far more annoying if this was my primary device.Otherwise, I strongly prefer my 1st Gen Acer Chromebook which has a much better screen, touchscreen, hinges that can go fully flat, and a zippy processor that keeps hundreds of tabs and apps open all at once. That cost me $500 which was out of budget for this particular gig. BUT I would absolutely buy that one again and skip this laptop, if I didn't HAVE to use Windows.

Its a great laptop at 215.00$ the best thing about the laptop is the battery life I usually get 7- 11 hours and the stand by power is good for almost 24 hours while never going to sleep. The worst thing about this laptop is the trackpad its terrible and the SD Card reader wont allow the SD card to be fully inserted it will only go 1/2 way in so if you were planning on using a SD card for extra storage the SD card will always be sticking out a good 1 inch and will probably get damaged if you arent careful while moving it around. I immediately switched to windows LTSB before even turning it on so I cant offer info on stock OEM win 10S it comes with but I assume its awful, I would highly recommend switching to WIN LTSB or WIN Server 2016 as soon as you buy this laptop. I have the 64GB version and I also use a external HD with it and I have gone through 5 major windows cummulative updates and have had zero issues with storage, I keep no media stored on this PC & only have office installed and have 40 GB available of the claimed 64 it ships with. I have owned this laptop for 4 months and had zero problems so far I would buy this laptop again at the 215$ it sold for.

So, I bought this laptop on November 23rd and it didn't ship out until December 1st. I received the laptop on December 2nd. The setup went smooth, it has a good battery life, the screen resolution is decent (not sure if it's actually 1080 because our 720 shows just as good and is more vivid). Everything seemed to be going smooth until I tried registering it online. I'm not sure if once you order the laptop it's registered to you (or once you set it up but I don't recall this during setup); but it said that my laptop had already been registered? How? I called ASUS to ask if I received a refurbished computer, the guy put me on hold, then the phone hung up. I called back two more times and couldn't even get through. I'm still not sure if it's a refurbished computer but I'd like to know because I paid for a new one!*Update: after trying to register the product online three times and calling in (and being hung up on), I went back to my products page and it says that the product is registered to me? Hmm, that's kinda fishy, especially because I gave the associate the products serial number over the phone; he could have easily switched it from the previous owner's account to mine

I bought it because I needed a budget laptop for some volunteer work I do. It's budget alright. My expectations were low because I build high performance gaming rigs but man...I've seen toaster ovens with better processors than this. To put things into perspective the CPU with its 2 wimpy physical cores (no hyperthreading so it's 2 logical as well) pegs out at 100% installing monthly Microsoft updates for about 3-4 hours. Respect your time more than I did and go buy a laptop with at minimum 8GB of RAM and a quad core processor.

I probably should of done more reading/research but I was extremely disappointing with this laptop. It constantly hung up and froze while it tried to keep up just running Windows. Straight out of the box with no additional software installed it had trouble opening a web browser without lagging. I even tried installing Linux Mint on it thinking it would be a much more lightweight OS and maybe I would still be able to use it, but the specs of this laptop are just sub-standard.I really liked the design and ASUS makes great products overall so I'm still giving it 3 stars but with the resource demands of modern operating systems, the specs on this laptop sadly fall short.

I was looking for a very inexpensive laptop for the use of writing, browsing internet, etc. and this pretty much fits the bill. It's a budget laptop and at $400 list you are obviously sacrificing on some quality, but this is still a great device. Form factor is really nice and study and it does the job it needs to. If you want to game or stream a bunch of videos, you'll need to splurge on something with a better processor and graphics card. But if you're like me and just looking for something to write and email with, this is a great choice. Bonus: I found an open box deal that got this below $300 with Prime shipping. Fantastic deal.
