The Eufy S220 Solocam is really well made and easy to install. The picture quality is exceptional and the solar panel keeps the camera charged even in English weather. Mine faces west but still on average it keeps the battery charged to around 98%. I had a security camera previously which had 2 AA Lithium batteries which lasted about 6 months, but I always seemed to be fiddling with it. For the extra money I think it's well worth buying. Just fit and forget.

I honestly can’t recommend Eufy enough. It’s the perfect DIY home security system. My setup currently includes a HomeBase 3 with upgraded storage, three cameras, a video doorbell, the security tablet, keypad, and door sensors. Everything integrates perfectly and every device is packed with useful features. The app is simple to use and the picture quality is easily the best I’ve seen from a home security system. Every device has felt worth the price. I actually bought this exact camera in November 2025 and it ended up getting stolen over New Year (completely my fault — I had temporarily turned my security system off while doing some work and I had installed the camera a bit too low). Three months later it randomly reconnected to my HomeBase, which helped me locate it. When I got it back the casing was pretty beat up and it clearly had a rough time, but amazingly it still works perfectly. The camera works, motion detection works, and even the solar panel is still charging it. That experience alone shows how well these cameras are built. After being stolen, outside for months and knocked around, it still performs like new. If you’re looking for a reliable DIY security system, Eufy is absolutely worth it.

The app is easy to use and the motion detection works well. My only real criticism is that I wish there was a simple "Home" and "Away" mode. When the kids are playing in the garden, I end up muting notifications because the constant alerts get annoying. If Eufy added an easy way to switch between profiles, it would make an already great camera even better. Apart from that, I'd definitely recommend it.

Very pleased with it. Very clear view. Solar on top without wired to it. Need wired to charge it in the winter if it gets low. Charger included. It recorded every movement and will roll over when it gets maximum. Can watch playback videos. Worth buying.

Real review time - and yes, this does have built in storage OR could use a Homebase 3 for expanded storage. As a longtime Ring and Kasa user i've been thinking about trying a Eufy camera for a long time. TBH i was put off by the revelations earlier this year and their patchy track record on honouring feature promises. This came out, and given that it is compatible with the Homebase 3 or can act as a standalone unit i was interested. Combined with the built in solar panel (a saving of £50 when looking at other manufacturers) i went for it. First thing to do upon receiving is was to charge it up via a mains charger, then create an account on the app. Wall mounting was easy thanks to the mounting template, although it doesn't like brick. Initially i stuck to Eufys guidance of a 15 degree angle on the camera - but changed that a day later. I found it took a day for the solar panel to register it's receiving enough energy to charge, however i put it up in the afternoon in my garden which doesn't get great sun coverage at that time. So far the camera has performed well; signal strength is great although it's only 8m from the router. Motion detection is very good, as is motion alert speed. Image quality is miles better than my 4+year old Ring spotlight cam. It has all the basics an then some; motion detection sensitivity, privacy and activity zones. In short it's great value even without the solar panel, add that in it's ideal for a camera to keep an eye on a quiet-ish area. I'd debate that wifi cameras are not real security cameras given the rise of wifi signal jammers, but this is a good piece of kit in the first 2 days of ownership. Put it this way, Eufy has potentially released a battery powered 2K wifi camera that you never need to take down to charge. At the same time Rings latest innovation was to release a 1080p camera where the only change was a plastic manual privacy cover - i'll update as it ages. A few tips on this though: 1. Angle the camera to 35 degrees, rather than 15 degrees - it's the optimum solar panel angle for the UK (Eufy seem to think everyone lives in Texas or California). 2. You'll need to clean to solar panel occasionally; a simple wipe with a damp cloth is all it'll need 3. A south facing mounting location is idea for the solar panel, but may not be practical 4. Assume your data is being sent or processed in China; Eufy are a Chinese company. This is more important if you are using the Homebase 3 where it can use AI detection/facial recognition. I mean not a problem if you are on TikTok, and frankly it's only a little worse than it being sent to the US.

Bei der Suche nach einer Überwachungskamera waren mir zwei Dinge besonders wichtig: Sie sollte keine monatlichen Kosten verursachen und ich wollte nicht ständig den Akku zum Laden abbauen müssen. Genau deshalb habe ich mich für die eufy Kamera entschieden – und inzwischen sind bereits drei Kameras bei mir im Einsatz. Die Einrichtung über die eufy-App war unkompliziert. Die Kamera lässt sich schnell hinzufügen und alle wichtigen Einstellungen sind übersichtlich erreichbar. Besonders überzeugt mich die Bildqualität. Die 2K-Auflösung liefert ein scharfes Bild und Bewegungen werden zuverlässig erkannt. Sobald die Kamera etwas registriert, bekomme ich eine Benachrichtigung auf mein Smartphone. Das funktioniert bei mir im Alltag sehr zuverlässig. Der größte Vorteil ist für mich aber das integrierte Solarpanel. Seit der Montage musste ich mich nicht mehr um das Aufladen kümmern. Wichtig ist allerdings, den Montageort gut auszuwählen. Das Solarpanel sollte möglichst viel Sonnenlicht bekommen, gleichzeitig muss die Kamera natürlich noch eine stabile WLAN-Verbindung haben. Wenn man das bei der Installation berücksichtigt, arbeitet sie anschließend nahezu wartungsfrei. Für mich erfüllt die Kamera genau das, was ich gesucht habe: gute Bildqualität, zuverlässige Benachrichtigungen, keine laufenden Abo-Kosten und dank Solarpanel kein ständiges Aufladen. Ich bin so zufrieden, dass ich mittlerweile drei Stück gekauft habe. Von mir gibt es deshalb eine klare Kaufempfehlung.

Veramente sorprendente! Buona qualità delle immagini e ottima sensibilità nel rilevamento del movimento. È autonoma dal punto di vista energetico, non troppo ingombrante e ha una buona connessione Wi-Fi. L’app è un po’ macchinosa nella gestione delle informazioni, ma offre tutto quello che serve. Nel complesso sono molto soddisfatto dell’acquisto.
