Caffè Borbone Espresso Intenso Whole Bean Coffee, 100% Robusta Blend, Medium Roast, 2.2 lb Bag (Pack of 1)

We were looking for an alternative to Ily, which is suffering delays, and the 2.2 lb. bag was on sale so we gave it a go. So glad we did. Dark, oily beans. It is very smooth, great flavor - hints of I don't get off in the weeds of pretension with notes of try-it-you'll-like-it.

This is a bold coffee, not a delicate one, with some earthy, chocolatey, and spicy notes. I make this in a Moka Pot where it offers up a deep brew, full of body, that dilutes with hot water wonderfully to make an Americano. It also brews up nicely in a Moccamaster or other drip machine, giving a rich brew with a bit more sugar/caramel notes than with the Moka. Finally, it makes a nice Vietnamese-style coffee when ground medium-fine and brewed in a phin filter.

Great coffee for a great price. It has a nice mix of flavor, strength and smoothness when making cappuccinos.

If you're looking for Crema, this is it. My only gripe with this coffee is its not fresh. 4-5 months old. It's not terrible for being old, but if I had received a fresher bag, I'm sure my review would change to a 5-star, and I wouldn't have minded the price. Would I recommend this? Yes. I do like that it is stronger in taste and smell, and has good crema pull. However, get this coffee on sale. Full price is a bit of a stretch for running the risk of getting an old bag. Now, compared to other brands such as Lavazza, I would prefer Lavazza for a couple of reasons. Price and taste. Lavazza is slightly cheaper and has a sweeter yet lighter taste, but with less crema. Note for the seller: Drop the price down slightly on this coffee so you can get fresher bags out the door. Overall, good coffee with a catch.

Bold, super creamy, low acidity, high caffeine kick, notes of chocolate and roasted nuts. This is the closest you're going to get to an authentic Italian espresso served in a local cafe off the beaten path.

The worst espresso beans I've ever had. First off, the bag was 5 months old when it arrived. I opened it up, made a shot, and while the shot came out pretty much perfectly, I couldn't take more than a sip. It tasted worse than the worst espresso I've had at the worst mom n' pop coffee place--the kind of place where when you ask for a shot of espresso, they reply, "You mean just the coffee?"I dumped out the rest ten minutes ago, and my tongue is still partially numb. The worst part about it is, Amazon won't accept a return. Never have I been so frustrated at wasting such a small amount of money.

After using the lavazza black bag for years i switched to this one. Much creamier , smoother and better balanced extractions. These coffee beans are very good.

I absolutely love Caffe Borbone, whether it is medium or dark roast. The beans are so very fresh, every day cup is enjoyable. Full bodied, non-bitter, coffee beans.
