You really do get what you pay for. Please remember, a training collar is a tool—not a punishment—and it’s important to educate yourself on how to use it properly so your dog is never hurt unnecessarily. Used correctly, this collar can make a huge difference in your training experience and strengthen your relationship with your dog. I’ve used this brand for many years with my service dogs, and I can honestly say it has made all the difference in helping me achieve reliable, respectful off-leash behavior I must have. My dog can now go with me everywhere, off leash, with confidence and control. That kind of trust doesn’t come overnight, but this collar gave me the dependable communication I needed to guide him safely and effectively. What really stands out is the durability. I’m only now buying my second one after more than two decades of use. My first collar has a pretty amazing history—it originally belonged to a friend’s Labrador, who used it for the entirety of her life. My friend gifted it to me, and it served another 11 years the entirety my second Border Collie life. Then it sat for two years in between dogs unused but still functioned perfectly when needed. Then it went on to work another six years essentially training my third Border Collie. That’s an incredible lifespan for any piece of equipment. When I briefly tried a cheaper brand, the difference was immediate. The cheaper model’s range was only about 20 feet, and reliability was hit or miss. With this one, I never had an issue—the range was far stronger, the responsiveness consistent, and the overall quality clearly better. It’s a reminder that when it comes to essential tools like training equipment, investing in a proven, reliable brand really matters. If you care about your dog and want to train with compassion, consistency, and effectiveness, this collar can be an excellent option. Just remember that no device will replace proper training knowledge or patience. Learn how to use it right, stay calm and consistent, and your dog will respond beautifully. For me, this training collar has been more than a tool—it’s been part of a long journey with the dogs that have shared my life and work. It’s built trust, freedom, and safety into our daily routines. After decades of dependable performance, I have complete confidence recommending it to anyone serious about proper training for their companion or service dog. The first two photos show my third border collie off leash whatever we go. The last photo is of my second border collie. Honestly, he has a collar on. You just can’t see it under all that hair.

The best purchase we could have made for our dog. Highly recommend.
Absolutely top notch. We have an extremely smart dog who's new to the family. She knows all her commands but being young, she has quite the "selective hearing problem", particularly when in high stimulus situations (dog park, smelling something awesome, etc.). Enter the Dogra e-collar ... This thing transformed our life and our dogs life the second we put it on! Now don't get me wrong...(1) you have to know what you're doing and how to use it, and (2) one day doesn't mean she's trained yet... That takes work. Daily work. But we do have a very effective and useful tool in our arsenal and she is responding exceptionally well to the stimulous. The key here folks is do your homework, and BE KIND! This is not a tool to shock the crap out of your dog in anger, or to punish with zero form of positive reinforcement for good behavior. In fact, from the second we put it on I would say that over 90% of what we've used when training has been the "pager function". This is basically a vibration and has nothing to do with an electrical impulse. Think of it as putting your mobile phone to your neck when it's set to vibrate. Nothing more. Can I nick her with an electrical charge? Sure. But why would I if I don't have to? And even when it IS warranted I use the lowest possible setting to get her attention. Which brings me to my final point... Don't put anything on your dog that you wouldn't try on yourself first. I tested the electical impulses myself and found that I felt nothing until around "20" (on the rheost setting) and noted that different places on my skin were more sensitive than others which makes perfect sense. Your underside of your arm is going to feel it more than the palm of your hand with all that padding and desensized thick skin that gets used day in and day out. The lesson? Your dogs neck is sensitive so be kind and don't just come out of the gate swinging with electicity flying. He/she wants to do the best they can for you. Give them a chance to surprise you. Ours sure did! Additional notes: High quality and durable, great range, and way better than the cheap units most of the big brand pet stores sell. Spend the money to have something that works and lasts.

Works very well! Use only vibration so far it works well. My German Sheppard reacts well to this e collar. I have tried most of the brands on market, only this one works really well. The others stopped working after two weeks or were not water proof even if they said it was in the description. This collar is fantastic, I use it every day, my dog is fine with it. The handle is easy and works well. Stay charged long, I only charge it since I bought it and after 3 weeks, it is still charged. Amazing product! Recommend it for large dogs.

I have a rescue Sheprador that has acres of forest to run in. His recall was terrible as he was continually overstimulated by all the woodland critters. Within 30 minutes on a long line, he understood the collar! We also have an invisible fence that he understands completely and it made the training go quickly. However, the e-collar training on our property was confusing. The signals made him fearful that we were too close to the fence line. Easily solved by heading deep into the woods for training off property. All confusion disappeared quickly. Our hikes are now peaceful for me and for my neighbours. He now heels without a leash and will not bolt for any critters. Works very well for recall and for creating boundaries during off leash walks and swims. Worth every penny!!!!!

Don’t buy this. It’s a money grab. This is a 2 dog system but you can’t adjust, set and lock the nick function for each dog. We bought it to help train and control our dogs at the same time while out in the country. However they feel it at very different levels. Even though there is a toggle between dogs, you can’t set it for each dog unless you pay another $300 American to get another special transmitter. And THAT one won’t work with the hands free buttons. You can use this if you can twist the dial fast enough to change settings but we like the correction to be immediate. And we don’t want a mistake made and correct the wrong dog with the higher stimulation level. Dogtra Customer service said you could buy another controller and have one dog on each transmitter (for an extra $200USD…) then why buy a 2 dog system in the first place? Steer away from this product if you have 2 dogs that might need correction on e-collars at the same time. Just buy 2 systems separately.
