Looks and feels like a good quality product.
This is a metal plate that feels good in your hands and looks great on top of your tripod. I haven't used it a lot yet, but all of the features advertised work well and it securely held my camera in place. I mounted it on top of my pan head tripod so that I could perform 90 degree tilts without having to buy an L-bracket. I'm looking forward to using this a great deal.

It works...Until See UPDATE REVIEW 2019
I bought this to use on top of a monopod. It does what it says it does. Helps with angles and such. Its a little bulkier than I would like for traveling but that's on me not the device itself.Sept 2019...purchased July of 2018 with virtually no use until Fall of 2019. As stated I used this for the top of my monopod. I like the extra height it provide while taking pictures. I used this for 3 events of a couple hours each event. The bottom screws stripped during the 3rd and no longer hold the camera in place as designed. I would understand if i were over taxing what is was designed for but I wasn't. I used it for standing in place and shooting pics. So now the search goes on for a replacement. I liked the extra height it provided for my taller frame, but will hope to find something i little lighter and hopefully sturdier.

Useful and Sturdy
The Koolertron Z-Flex tilt head arrived on time and in good condition. There was no manual or instruction leaflet included. It came with a carrying pouch and an Allen wrench. It's all-metal construction seems of decent quality. It has ribberized skid pads on the camera mount surface and on the bottom of the unit. It has a bubble level in the base, which is quite useful. It has a single 3/8 inch threaded mounting hole in the bottom with three 1/4" threaded mounting holes beside it. Two of those holes came with threaded 1/4"-20 studs installed, with hex sockets in them. This is where the Allen wrench comes in - you can use it to remove the studs. It comes with adjusting knobs at all four of the hinges, but what is not obvious from the product photos is that the ones on the left side serve a different purpose to the ones on the right. They are clearly marked "damping knob" and "fastening knob". The fastening knob side engages and disengages (by screw tension) a set of rosette-like teeth to prevent any movement or slipping once locked in place. I can see that the teeth may wear down over time based on the quality/durability of the metal used in construction - and also based on how you care your gear. The damping side engages a friction system that can be moved with different levels of ease depending on the tension applied by turning the knobs. This is the main reason I bought this product over others, as I didn't see how the tension could be controlled on versions lacking these sets of knobs - resulting in complaints of slipping and lack of tension/hold in their joints.I would not say that this is a replacement for a ballhead or proper (fluid) tripod head, but is another useful tool to have alongside those. I intend to use it with my slider and tabletop skater dolly for situations where a ballhead cannot extend out beyond the edge of slider or dolly and tilt downwards, among other things. There are a limited number of positions in which it can be used free-standing (on a floor, table, counter or other) without tipping over due to the weight of the camera.Overall, it's well constructed and well enough thought out to be a great buy for the price point.EDIT: The "fastening knobs" and "fixing knobs" aren't very long so they will fall completely out very soon after loosening if you continue to turn them, and they will fall out along with the retaining washers and geared bushing, so be aware of that.

Ok for the price
The two locking set screws on the bottom of mount we’re in upside down and require a metric hex key to tighten. Would be nice if one was included w/ the mount.

Surprisingly good build quality and usefulness ....
Let's face it. We are all buying some sort of variation/knock-off of Edelkrone Brand Flex Tilt Head, which costs around $180. I would pay twice, maybe even three times more for the real thing versus the knock-offs but as they are currently priced, it is way overpriced for what they are and what they do. Hence all the knock-off. I looked hard at various designs but I chose this one because using the knobs, rather than Allen wrenches for adjustments appealed to me.This design had no problem supporting my Nikon D750 with 60mm Nikkor macro lens and a ring flash.Other friction held mounts are more useful for mirrorless or other compact cameras but not sure if they can really hold the full sized DSLR steady for any length of time.

Sturdy and good for multiple uses
I bought this one because I read the reviews about it being sturdy and didn't want anything cheap to hold my expensive camera. It is nice and sturdy and easy to adjust. I've actually been using to hold my flash for some macro photography. I couldn't find anything that was compact enough to get close and flexible enough to adjust into whatever position. This has worked out great.

Did not work the way I expected
Each time you want to adjust the position, you have to loosen each of the 4 points. Not easy to use. It wasn't as sturdy as I thought it was going to be. I returned it and got my money back.
