Florsheim Men's, Berkeley Penny Loafer

This review is for Florsheim Men's Berkley Penny Loafer,Black,12 E Sold by: Amazon.com Services, Inc. I delayed buying these a few months based on some of the reviews. You have to be wary of copies and knock offs of reliable products. I've been wearing a version of this shoe since about 1969. The pair i just received is consistence with all of the previous pairs I've bought. These have always been my primary shows -- not reserved for special occasions and I have walked more miles in these shoes than most people have walked miles. I have never (prematurely) worn a hole in the sole of any of them. I have never had the top stitching fail, although if rubbed against the desk or office chair a lot, I expect it would. These are not "normal shoes." They have a life of their own that they will share with you, for years, if you treat them right. When you get them, polish them with a good paste polish. But wear some other shoes when you go fishing. :) Revised 5-28-2019: After wearing these shoes for over 6 months they honestly look and feel better than when they were new. I can't believe some of the reviews. They must be working for a competitor of something. These are very good shoes. Florsheim is best IMO, which is why I have worn them for decades. Use Kiwi Parade Gloss Shoe Polish. This is an honest review. I didn't get paid for my opinion and it is beneath my dignity to accept any payment even if offered.

Loafer was delivered sooner than expected. These shoes are well made and excellent quality. I can use them with casual or business wear. I am very happy with these shoes. One word of caution, when I received the shoes I tried them on with heavy dress socks. Big mistake on my part because the shoes were too tight. I immediately placed an order for refund and printed return label. I thought about my disappointment because I really wanted a pair of high quality black loafers. Then it dawned on me to try them on with light weight dress socks. And then wham, bang, thank you ma'am, PERFECT FIT. I am so pleased now with this purchase. I canceled the refund and return order. Thank you Amazon Prime for great service.

Tried the 9.5 E. Was too small. Went to 10E and they fit great. A little snug, as my feet have gotten bigger since 2020. LOL.

These are beautifully made shoes, so if you can fit you'll probably be happy. BUT, the toe box is too low, too tight. I have no problem with XW or 3X Bass Weejun penny loafers (Bass doesn't make wide widths anymore and before they stopped production of those they cheapened the penny loafer design) or Rockport penny loafers. So, if you have a high instep, move on. Update, despite the listing saying "free returns", I've been charged a $13 restocking fee. Shameful!

Beautifully crafted. Light and for the most part comfortable. My normal size IS a 9M or 9 D but these are a bit to long. They will break in soon and hopefully fit better. Most 8 1/2's are just to short. In some shoes I wear bigger...I have a pair of Rocky boots ( police type) that are size 11's. Just can never tell

I bought it because Florsheim has been a good brand with a good quality and durability but this shoes only last 7 months, a hole was opened on the sole first on the left and then started on the right foot. A previous pair that i also bought had the same problem of quality, I thought that was something occasional but now happened again.

I was looking for a smooth bottom show like this pair to dance with. All my other shoes have rubber feeling bottoms and can't dance with them. I use to only buy Florsheim shoes years ago, and lucked out finding this pair

great shoe for a great price. They fit like a glove.
