This mat is a great size. I like knowing that it is all natural and if I put my face on it that I'm not getting any odd chemical/synthetic byproduct. However, it smelled very strongly of rubber when I first got it. I wiped it down, let it air out, etc. It's been months that I've had it and I still smell rubber when I put my face near it, but it has become more mild. I slide so much on this mat though that I have contemplated wearing grippy socks, or maybe spraying it down with water to make it tackier, or just going back to my old Gaia mat. I think if you sweat a lot and your skin is naturally moist/tacky while you practice, you won't have issues with sliding. For me, this mat is just so smooth and it takes a lot to get me sweating so my hands and feet just aren't tacky enough to grip. It makes downward dog quite difficult with your hands and feet sliding apart. I considered this a pricey mat and if I had known I was going to slide around so much on it, I would have bought my second choice. Hopefully this review is helpful!

So at first I didn't think I was going to like this mat, I rolled it out and as i was doing Down Dog I was slipping so I contacted the Seller (they returned answer fast!) and they informed me to mist it with water as it is natural material. I took their advice of course... AND I have no problem. I DO recommend this product!

This mat is absolutely amazing! Not only do I love that it's eco-friendly, but the no-slip and grasp of the cork is fantastic. I teach hot classes and take hot classes, and I don't feel like I need a towel to help me from slipping during practice. Also, the mat is easy to roll up and cleans beautifully with mat spray. I don't feel like there is a smell left on the mat, which can happen when practicing in hot spaces.They also include the black carrier, which fits perfectly around the mat (and easily adjustable), so you don't have to worry about buying a mat straps in addition to your purchase here. What an awesome addition!I would feel very comfortable having this one and only mat to practice on at home or on the go.

I’m 65 years old and one year out from my total knee replacement. I understand the importance of yoga for balance and strength and decided I needed to get serious with my rehab. I know how important it is to have the proper tools when beginning a project so to speak. I found the Repose yoga mat and was impressed right away. It was unlike any I have seen. The material is cork which instantly sets it apart from others. It is very comfortable, easy to carry and store. I couldn't wait to get it! I am the envy of my class, its so good looking and very functional. My customer service was excellent and The shipment was prompt! I highly recommend the Repose yoga mat whether you are seasoned or a beginner! The Repose would also be a great gift to receive!

Okay, let me start by saying that I hate exercise. I do it as infrequently as possible. That being said, it is January of a new year and the resolutions are currently in full swing, so I got this mat - along with a few other tools - to keep me on track. I chose this one because I LOVED the fact that it's a sustainable, organic material - I've always been a sucker for cork, it's so breathable and porous that I figured it would be great in this application and, so far, I think it's perfect. Right out of the box, I was impressed that it didn't have that sickening plastic smell that my old yoga mat of ten years STILL reeks of. I laid them out side-by-side to compare and this one is a good 4" longer, which is awesome - nothing worse than laying your head on the edge, am I right?? During my workout, I went back and forth between the two mats and far prefer this one... outside of being longer, I didn't stick to it, and when the sweat started, it seemed to soak it right up and stay dry while my other one was a little damp. That sounds a bit gross but being that cork is anti-bacterial, nothing to worry about! It says to just wipe it down with a damp cloth when cleaning, which I haven't done yet. Overall, I'm very happy with this mat - it appears to be well-made, the size is great, and I looked at a lot of these prior to purchasing and some of them are much more expensive... I decided to go with this more moderately priced mat since the reviews were great and cork is cork. I'm really happy I chose this one, I can't imagine what the more expensive ones have that it doesn't. Definitely recommended!

I don’t typically write reviews unless I’m extremely impressed or disappointed with something. This is an excellent quality yoga mat... The length is perfect for me and it provides a great amount of traction, support, and comfort. We just installed new hardwood flooring and my old mat just slipped around. The Repose mat stays where I put it, giving me a lot stability in my poses. The fact that it’s organic is a huge bonus for me as well!!!

I really like the fact that this mat is non-toxic & actually smells good. The only thing that keeps it from getting a five-star review is that I find it a bit more slippery than I'd hoped. I'm still hoping it will soften & become grippier with use (I've only had it for a couple of weeks). Size & cushioning are super, though, & it's really only a little slippery on things like lying-down cobbler's pose.

I’ve had this mat for almost 6 months. I use it frequently (2-3 yoga classes a week) and it just gets better with every use. I sweat a lot and the cork surface absorbs moisture really well and prevents my hands from slipping. It is very well-made, durable and is obviously made from quality materials. Because of its thickness and the rubber backing, it’s heavier than other mats out there, but after a while you forget about the weight because this mat is just excellent! I highly recommend it. Everyone in my yoga class wanted to try it and folks were impressed. Even my cat, who normally scratches my previous mats, is happy with it!
