Sioux Chief 490-11322 Closet Flange Floor Support

Q: Can you install this on top of tile? Drilling though tile and anchoring it to sub floor beneath tile?

I would say yes you could do that, but it seems like ceramic tile should be support enough, the other thing to consider replacing the flange if it’s damaged. When I installed this it was because a small portion of the sub floor was damaged I also went ahead and took the old broken flange off and installed a expensive but well worth it culwell flange, they have different kinds depending on you application. It could be since you have tile you just need to replace the flange.

Q: What is the hole diameter?

I used this on a 3" pipe with a standard closet flange. You can adjust it and it may work with 4". The floor beneath the toilet was particle board that had water damage. This product solidified the floor that the toilet sat on. I would use it again.

Q: What is the thickness of the plate?

OEM states plates are18 gauge. 18 ga = 0.04 inches = 1/25 inches

Q: do you tile around this, because im doing a remodel and the closet flange does not have to be replaced and i want to install before my ceramic tile

This fits entirely under toilet. So yes you can tile around it then install toilet.
