Brilliant compact seed tray
I LOVE these compact propagators for sowing my seeds. They’re so much better than conventional seed trays. Why? Firstly seeds germinate better with less dampening off. Secondly they grow stronger root systems and therefore healthier and more robust seedlings. Thirdly, potting on is made a whole lot easier and quicker than pricking out from seed trays which often damages roots in the process and is quite messy. With these propagators you simply pop out the seedlings. Fourthly these last and last as they’re made of robust plastic that doesn’t deteriorate and split. I’ve had them years and they’re still going strong, although I’ve lost a couple of lids as these are more brittle. I wish they sold these separately.Last but not least, these are compact so take up very little room, far less than conventional trays which makes them perfect if you have little space. To the manufacturer. Please can you consider bringing out a larger size and selling the lids individually.

Better than cardboard plant pots
Better than cardboard plant pots. 4 days after first filling my two new plant-trainers with cabbage, sprouts, broccoli and cauliflower seeds, the cabbage and broccoli are sprouting. They are growing from the centres of each compartment where the seeds were placed. Everything went well from the beginning. I filled the compartments to the very top and patted them down to compress the soil slightly then topped them up again until full. tapped down and refilled. Then pushed the spikey lid down firmly to make shallow indentations in the soil for the seeds to sit. Then I nipped the soil around the seed and dropped a bit more soil in to be sure. Filled the base half full with water and left them in the sun during the day.The propagator soon misted up with evaporated water and 4 days later - I'm in business. Club root, disease resistant plants from seed without a worry.I bought two plant-trainers and I'm planning two more for next year. I'll be my own nursery with the exact plants I want to grow. Plus I can stagger planting with no problems. This is my first year with an allotment so as long as my rows are straight so the old timers have nothing to complain about hahaha (because I know they're watching us newbies with experienced eyes) and I get bird / insect netting and the slugs under control, I'm looking forward to a bumper crop.

Ok but seems to make very leggy seedlings
I bought these thinking they would be good to make seed starts but they seem to make very leggy seedlings, I have not take them out so don’t know what the root system is yet but they have gone leggy so quickly I can’t believe the root is any good!!

Excellent design with one sticking point...
A really thoughtful design in every respect except that the two trays stick together and are much too difficult to separate.I particularly like the compactness and portability. Excellent for growing longish rooted plug plants. This has to be the easiest way to grow and then transport 49 seedlings from home to garden or allotment. Quality of materials is improved over the ones I bought a few years ago. Just a shame about the separation issue, which costs it two stars.

Boxes damaged
Must give excellent rating for delivery - ordered yesterday and delivered today. The items were delivered in a nice cardboard box which was in perfect condition. When I opened the box, both the Agralan boxes were damaged. One had a lot of the outer skin damaged and the other one was creased on one corner, otherwise I would have given five stars. I did check them both but cannot see any damage to the units.

Cells are to small
Great idea but the individual planting cells are to small for roots to grow well. Overall service was good and I was able to return them for a full refund without any problems.
