These would be 5 stars based upon sound quality alone, however the first pair I bough dveloped a fault in the right ear within a day. What I can say is the sound quality is so far in excess of the asking price that I have taken the risk of ordering another pair after returning the originals. They have larger than average 13mm drivers with a decent frequency response. The sound is balanced with LOTS of detail and really good clarity. They are resoundingly much better sounding than the £22.95 I paid for them. They come with more tips than I've ever received with a set of IEMs and it's easy to find a good fit. Before you judge the sound it is important to find some tips with a good seal as these are designed to be properly inserted in to the ear canal.Hopefully I'll strike lucky this time!

Reading all of the reviews I think that product build quality can be a bit hit or miss and in this case a firm miss :-(
Amazing sound quality, but broken right out of the box. Plug them into my ipod amd was really please by the sound quality. but unfortunately these earphones have either a broken or faulty cable. As soon as you moved the cable it would cut out sound and/or trigger woice activation (cable shorting out). I tracked this down to just above the jack plug. I planned to send them back and order another pair as the sound quality is fantastic, but after reflection I feel that this could be a manufacturing fault and there is not enough evidence for longevity of use to want to risk buying another pair. A real shame and very dissapointed.

Perfect Fit easy for comutes
First things first the negative: not as loud as I was expecting.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Ok the positives.- The delivery: fast (one day prime) , reliable- The box: amazing box, very hard to open- the accessories: loads of colorfull buds (right and left)- the design: most beautiful in ear I have laid my eyes upon (apart from the £600 sennheiser-ie-800)- Isolation: great, not perfect but sufficient to lay the sound clearly in your ears- Quality: very distinct sound, I have experience better but not on this price range- Base: about a 35% base, which doesn't overpower other instruments in oposition to the Beats by Dre or Harman Kardon, but plays well with other instrumentsOverall I would highly recommend!

Bizarrely disappointing
Musical Fidelity is one of 'my' companies, in the sense that I own and enjoy some of their stuff, covet some of their other items, and generally approve of the way they design and make things. So having balked at paying £40 to replace a pair of Beyerdynamic MMX102ie that I'd left on a train, I was excited to find the EB-33 for what seemed a bargain price. The disappointment came after unboxing them and plugging them in. Anything featuring sustained high frequencies - orchestral trumpets, electric lead guitar - sounded simply horrible. (This from CD or equivalent material fed through my MF amp and headphone amp.) Other frequencies - or even the highs in less complex passages - sounded fine.Changing the eartips seemed to help, perhaps in terms of speaker position - but that adversely affected noise exclusion, which matters when Im flying. I found myself constantly fiddling with the earpieces, trying to get them to sit right, and then finding my ears were uncomfortable for several days after a flight. The weight of the earpieces may be a factor in this, as may the coin-shaped extensions that possibly make it too easy to press too hard to seat the tips. There's a final bizarre note to add. My travel rig is an iPhone 6 playing downloaded music and speech material from Deezer and BBC iPlayer Radio. I like to keep the phone in my inside pocket while I'm listening. But on planes, the EB-33's microphone would pick up voices nearby. The iPhone would interpret this as an attempt to activate Siri and respond with 'Siri not available. Connect to the Internet'. You can imagine that this, twice a minute, is hardly conducive to relaxing listening. When they work well, these are pleasing, well-made headphones, and £25 isn't much to risk to find out if they work for you. But they really don't suit me, and they went back. I bought another pair of Beyerdynamics, and the moment I plugged them in I got that 'Ah, that's better' feeling. Sometimes it really is best to stick with what you know.

Extremely good sound and build quality, comfortable.
Takes a fair while to get them to fit, went through most of the buds to get a good seal.Once fitted these are immense. The sound quality is exteemely good, from the deep bass to the trebble that is not at all harsh.I loop the flat cables over my ears to avoid cable noise. Great for cycling, even in the rain and when sweaty. I didn't expect them to stay in as they're the biggest thing I've ever stuffed in my cannals, but they do. Was worried about cycling but even when I've had to pop them out to communicate with folk and put them back in they've gone in OK on the move. The build quality is superb. Very in your face though. They will be noticed by the kind of folk that check out what you're using. They do look odd.But at the end of the day it's all about sound, fit and build quality. These please on all counts.Sound quality is very good. They are definitelty going to make lo quality MP3s sound as crap as they are. On the other hand they have a wonderful rich sound. They produce sound of lovely clarity everywhere and have a good spread. The sound is well seperated, no mudiness and even really complex music is well defined. Very good for films as they are so clear and have a great low punch, if you set up the delivery that way, without distorting. Blu-Ray audio is immense on these. They have the ability to damage your hearing on all of my devices so must be quite easily driven.Used them on all of this equipment with no issues. Cowon D20, Cowon D2+DAB, various Google phones and pads, Windows phone, Creative soundcardin PC, Panasonic Blu-Ray and Xbox via Panasonic Plasma TV, Kenwood Series 21 Hi-Fi and Pioneer Hi-Fi, CD's via those HiFis.
