My mom has really enjoyed these
Bought this set for my 92yo mom who is in a nursing home. She is bedridden, and watches a lot of TV. She loves history, and really has enjoyed watching this set.

Donโt bother
This is not at all what I expected. I wanted my history details. Promotes Disney feature films, not what I needed.

As a teaching aid, it is worthless
It was a commercial for Pirates of the Caribbean - It was a waste of money. Find another video for teaching.

One long Disney infomercial--skip it!
I checked this DVD out at our local library because my daughter is studying the 13 colonies. We sat down this evening to watch it as a family and what a disappointment! This is just a long Disney commercial with a thin veneer of "American history" on it. The MC/narrator spends his time telling corny jokes and interviewing Disney film personnel about the movies they produced. There are a few facts about the early colonies sprinkled in here and there, but they don't tell a story or connect to one another in a meaningful way. Pablum posing as an educational film. Don't waste your time or money!

Like the old Burke Connections
If you've watched the old 78 or 90's Connection series then you know what you're in for, and if that's what you liked about the classic Connections, then this has it.I don't think the other reviewer knew about previous Connection series and how this DVD is supposed to connect the past history to Disney. Yes, it talks about Disney, but it's supposed to, that is the point. It shows how the movies and creations of Disney are connected to the past. You shouldn't be using this video as a way to write a school report or anything, but to broaden your views of connecting Disney to the past. The host makes silly jokes and connections like the old 78 version with James Burke. It's an updated version of the old series. Worth the watch. It's entertaining and you can learn a little history and a little about the "Connections."Well worth your time.
