Versatile, and works a treat. Clamp needs to be tightened a LOT!
I got this stand so I could put a small monitor speaker on a normal microphone stand, and still be able to use it for holding a mike.I do the live sound and help out with a friend who does solo acoustic gigs. Floor monitor wedges are huge and heavy, and unnecessary for most of the venues he plays, but he still needs to be able to hear himself properly. After a bit of thinking, I decided to use the Control One speakers I had in my studio, and mount them on mike stands. I even found the correct brackets for the job. This worked perfectly, but he wanted to get the footprint as small as possible. Three stands - mike stand, speaker and music stand - was taking up a lot of room. This boom is the answer. It's intended for saxophones or miking acoustic guitars, but it does go tall enough to work as a vocal mike. The monitor is on top of the central mike stand so it's very stable, and the boom clamps on. He can adjust the boom however he likes mid set, and the speaker stays put. It's awesome. We've used it a few times now, and it works perfectly. it's easy to set up, and sturdy. We expected massive feedback, but because the speaker is so close to the singer it doesn't need to be very loud.I would say that the clamp is the weak link. You have to really crank it up. When it's Fully tight, it's pretty solid, but it feels like you are about to break it, and it's quite hard to undo afterwards.

Great simple stand add-on - works well
This works well. I've used it on a variety of stands, and the clamp accommodates different shaft diameters nicely. It has good rubber pads to prevent gouging and can be got stable - I was worried about it wobbling around, but no fear. The boom arm slides well and can be reversed by unscrewing the mounting tip and sliding the boom fully back (in case that's an issue which side of the stand you want it mounted).I was worried this would be flimsy but it isn't. A great purchase and seeing regular use in my set-up. The clamp bracket could be a bit more refined hence only 4 stars, but it works and is not a reason not to buy this (given the low price). There may be a better alternative in that regard, but couldn't find one that fit my budget

Great item! I attach it easily to my busking ...
Great item! I attach it easily to my busking trolley handle and it stays firm and steady with a Shure mic. Bought it much cheaper used from Amazon warehouse for a Twelver. Still in very good condition. Not sure what is meant by US thread in the product title. Works for me in the UK. The only thing different from the product picture is the attachment. Instead of a round attachment, mine is a angular, like for pop shields. Means you are not restricted to attaching it only to a round pole? In all a great buy. Glad I took a punt on this. It can be left attached to my trolley while I move to the next busking spot, or even when stored away. Saves the hassle of dismantling and carrying separately. I also like that there's no mic stand in the way of my free movement, eg. I find I'm knocking my guitar quite a bit on it! And no mic stand tripod to trip over too! Would recommend!

Nicely designed product - had issues with the clamping screw
Packaging and delivery of the product were first class. I had an issue with the screw that secures the boom arm. This has a splined brass insert that would emerge out of the housing when tightening the screw up, so the boom arm was not secured. Not really wanting to go through the hassle of returning the product, I fixed the brass insert in place with cyanoacrylate (super) glue and it now functions as intended.

Great kit, saves space!
Great kit if fitting to a 'Conductor' style music stand with bigger tubes.Seems solid, all the correct articulation is there, gigged it a few times and seems solid.Pay attention to the weld where the bracket meets the arm - it seems to be sensitive if you put too much weight / move it too much without adjusting the screws properly.

Perfect for overhead booms
We use these as a over boom for a rode shotgun mic, fixed to some studio rigging for a studio set. They never move from the fixed position, so it's hard to really comment on their durability. But from my perspective and usage these are incredible. They work without issues and have never caused any hassle.

Great clamp.
Just what I was looking for. Saves a lot of space when setting up drum mics. Would definitely get more of these. Good build quality.
