Interesting mix: ABBA's Agnetha Fältskog - voice of an angel & daughter Linda's childish lilt - light and fun!
After decades of listening to all genres of music, Agnetha Fältskog's voice remains my #1 female vocal - ever!!! Another reviewer described Agnetha Fältskog on this CD as 'angelic' - I couldn't agree more!At first, I was hesitant to purchase an album that included vocals by such a young child. However, I bought 'Nu Tandas Tusen Juleljus' solely as an ABBA fan (ABBA is my all time fave). If you love ABBA from Waterloo to Mamma Mia ... then this album is an 'essential' addition to your ABBA/Christmas collection. 'Nu tändas tusen juleljus' was co-produced by Agnetha Fältskog and ABBA's Michael B. Tretow in the Polar Studios with the same musicians as on contemporary ABBA recordings.I was indeed pleasantly surprised by the mother/daughter (Agnetha and seven year old, Linda) production! In a very unique way, this album captures the Christmas spirit - especially the harmonic mother and daughter duets. Singing in Swedish actually worked out well for me. Since I don't understand the language, I was able to focus more on the vocals and the music (performed by ABBA's musicians).I must agree with another reviewer - the first song (Nej Se Det Snoar) does sound a 'bit' like 'Alvin and the Chipmunks'. Of course, it's Linda's childish lilt - it's light and fun though! :)This Christmas CD should be a 4 STAR, however, I gave it 5 STARS because it's ABBA-related! Hey! I would even buy ABBA's 1970's National (Panasonic) advertisement if it is ever released by Polar Studios! :)RECOMMENDED READING: This biography - Bright Lights Dark Shadows: The Real Story of Abba is great reading for all ABBA fans.'Thank You For The Music' Agnetha & Linda - this album is the next best thing to an ABBA Christmas CD!(See my photos in customer images)UPDATE: With ABBA's 2010 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, ABBA mania will continue for years to come :))

Angelic Voices Fit For Christmas
Christmas in July? How about April? Listening to this album, I don't mind what month it is at all.I've known ABBA since my early teens, but I've only "re"-discovered Agnetha Faltskog recently, via her "My Colouring Book" comeback. A retro-fascination with ABBA music ensued. Naturally, there was a frantic search to grab all her solo recordings (all at once), including this Christmas gem.Yes, it did take some getting used to to listen to a child's voice. (Plus I don't understand any Swedish.) But it is a fun recording. The rapport between mother and daughter is evident. And Agnetha's voices (plural) more than compensate, as these encapsulate most every track. If I could hear angels sing, I imagine this album is fairly resemblant of that heavenly sound.

Christmas with Agnetha of ABBA
Let me start by stating that I love, love, love ABBA! That is why when I first saw Agnetha's Christmas CD, "Nu Tändas Tusen Juleljus," available on Amazon; I just had to purchase it. Her vocals on this 1981 recording are exquisite. While the idea of recording a Christmas song with one's child is precious, including them on almost every song is a bit exasperating. The cover of the CD clearly reads, "Agnetha & Linda," so I suppose I shouldn't have expected just Agnetha's vocals. No offense to Little Linda. She has an endearing child's voice. Based on each selection, I gave this CD 3.3 stars but because of Agnetha's lovely voice, I gave it 4 stars. If Agnetha would have performed more solos, this certainly would be a 5 star Christmas CD. If you're an ABBA fan, this is an essential recording!

More Linda than Agnetha, but nevertheless brilliant
When I first heard about this album many years ago, my curiosity was aroused, but I was at the time put off when I learned (without actually hearing the music) that Agnetha doesn't feature much and that the main singer is her daughter Linda, who was born in 1973. She was aged seven when she recorded her contributions to this album. Linda eventually followed her mother into the entertainment business, but as an actress rather than as a singer. Eventually, my increased interest in music for children and some encouraging reviews tempted me to take a chance on it. One reviewer who doesn't like it suggests that if you like Alvin and the Chipmunks, you'll love this set. Well, I can understand his viewpoint, but as I like to listen to the Chipmunks occasionally, even that reviewer didn't put me off. This album too a while to grow on me, but the more I hear this album, the more I like it.; I don't know any Swedish, but I've learned to enjoy music in other languages that I also don't understand, so that doesn't concern me. Nevertheless, the tracks I enjoy most are the most instantly recognizable, these being versions of Jingle bells (possibly the best of the lot) and I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus (ideally suited to a child`s voice).. The remaining songs include more general children's songs as well as Christmas songs. The overall feel of the album is joyful, but the tempos vary. Some people clearly feel that there is too much of Linda and not enough of Agnetha, and I thought that to begin with. But I've come to realize that it is Linda's voice that makes this album worth hearing over and over. Agnetha could have recorded a great Christmas album of her own, and had she done so, it would probably have been one of my favorites. Then again, it might not have stood out from all the other great Christmas albums that I have. This being my only Christmas album featuring such a young child as lead vocalist, it is something special and different.

Lovely Christmas songs from the swedish superstar
ABBA was and is my favourite band of all times, and this collection of (mostly) swedish christmas songs is a good addition for anyone that loves ABBA and Agnetha. Her voice is the same beautiful one that we all love and cherish. Dont expect any hits here, but a nice album that you can play for christmas again and again and again and... :)
