I have used this for the cable on deck railings & stairs. It has held up as expected. I did stay with the plain stainless instead of the black. I haven't used the black but as far as I know it's a coating. I don't know how well it stands up to the weather.

Seems to work for my cable railing project but the cable texture is much rougher to the touch than the Feeney brand cable that I used on another project. Time will tell how it holds up to the elements.

We had the old & outdated front deck upgraded with this cable system. The old posts were wrapped in cedar and this system installed. It looks amazing. There are more expensive options out there, however, the cables are made with essentially the same grade of cable. Even with needing to order the crimping tool, this is a much better choice. We researched all the options available & nothing was better even at a much higher price point.
