Used it on mahogany body guitar (Gibson The paul). Sanded down first then used a macrofibre cloth to wipe it on as it is thin enough to apply like oil. The effect was great. If you imagine what sanded bare sanded wood looks like when you first wipe over it with water or terps, and it highlights the grain and the end color of the wood -that is the effect. Only difference is that water dries away and looks bare again,, but this stuff dries and keeps the natural colour and grain highlighted. I found a couple of coats wiped on with the cloth enough, and on the very warm dry day that I used it, it was touch dry in around 5 minutes, and sand-able after around 15 mins. For a finishing coat after the final fine sanding of any small imperfections, i diluted it with meth spirit 10 percent-ish, and wiped over the guitar one more time. Finish was absolutely perfect, as though it was done like that in the factory shop. Wish I had know about this stuff earlier.

seems fine, cannot get briwax anymore it seems, so tried this and quite happy but will continue to search for Briwax product.

I’ve used this product quite a few times now to finish restored furniture - it goes on quick, drys quick and can be waxed afterwards… but if don’t make sure the screw thread on the bottle is clean when you put the lid back on you risk gluing the lid on. It’s a child proof lid and in my case I can’t apply enough force without completely twisting the bottle!

I was a bit hesitant to use shellac flakes or buttons. This is a good alternative for someone who just wants to try it out. It seals the wood well, and it does a good job as wood finish. And you can dilute or remove it with alcohol.
