Beautiful fountain pen, fair price
Really good quality fountain pen, well finished and the nib is medium sized. Does not scratch or rub. Paintwork in eye catching metallic colors (only the purple is not metallic ).Easy writing, quite hard nib, but good for heavy writing!Made to last. Overall well balanced but on the light side. Excellent fountain pen for little money! Recommended

A great purchase
My pen arrived promptly and I was very impressed by its quality and finish. It came with a little pouch for storage which was also good. I have always used Lamy fountain pens for studying / writing in lectures, because of the cartridges and the fact that they're quite durable. I wanted a pen to continue using at home with my bottle of ink as my previous pen had given up on me. Love the red finish too, excellent deep colour complemented well by the tasteful gold finishing touches. The Dryden makes for very comfortable writing and just "feels" right. No messy refills with this converter and the nib stays free of ink splashes too. Firm close on the pen lid and the barrel screws on well and stays put. It puts a good amount of ink on the paper and doesn't go through with 90gsm (Oxford) It does seem to get through ink a little quickly but I don't really seem to mind - that and I'm doing a hell of a lot of writing at the moment!Great pen and good quality, excellent value.

Writes very smoothly
I love this pen. Not only is it beautiful to look at, it's nice to handle. I can't believe it was so reasonably priced.

Ink doesn't flow smoothly
Nice looking pen but ink doesn't flow smoothly so writing is patchy. I swapped the cartridges supplied for the reservoir and filled that with decent Parker Quink black ink but it makes no difference. Therefore pen not recommended.

Looks good but a bit of a pain to use
I’m not really sure what ‘sheerness’ means in terms of this pen, so I gave it three stars to be safe.First off, I’m not a huge fountain pen person and I’ve never used expensive, fancy models, so I don’t have that to compare it to. But I do like a good pen, and I own a few. It’s nice to be able to pick up some inexpensive ones to try out. This pen looks great considering the price, and doesn’t feel cheap. It’s comfortable to hold, the nib looks lovely, and it’s not flimsy. It posts okay, sort of, but I’ve had the cap fall off a couple of times as it’s not all that firm.Unfortunately, there are some definite issues with ink flow. I’ll be writing away just fine when all of a sudden the flow just stops. A firm shake or flick usually gets it going again, but that’s frustrating and shouldn’t happen. It’s a shame because when it’s working as expected, it’s quite nice to write with, but as it stands this has become my reserve for trying new inks. I’ve only used it with the converter, and it’s possible it works better with cartridges, but that shouldn’t be an issue. For the price, there are definitely better options for writing and this was very much highlighted when I got a Jinhao, which is just worlds apart. Disappointing because it does look like there’s been some effort put into the design here, but unfortunately it just doesn’t really hold up when it comes to the basic function.

Good pen and good value
Just bought this and started using and so far it seems really good, especially for the price. It looks good and the weight is feels about right. Being left handed, I often have problems with ballpoints etc being scratchy or catching. This writes well straight from the start unlike some I've used where you have to 'scribble' a bit to get ink flowing. Bought a Parker jotter recently and the Dryden is better. So far I'd have no hesitation buying another...

Quality product and service
I recently purchased two of these pens, one red and one black, also 24 ink cartridges (12 black and 12 blue).I am immensely happy with my purchase and the service received. the pens are of high quality and write perfectly. Having not used a fountain pen for many years I will need to practice with them considerably. However, this is the reason I bought them, to bring back the joy of writing again rather than scribbling quick notes in illegible text. They are a joy to use and I already see an improvement in my handwriting as I now take more time and effort to produce text while enjoying the delight of using these wonderful instruments. All in all, quality products, delivered on time, and a marvellous follow up service. I will definitely be coming back for more of their products in the future, and I recommended them to anyone wanting a quality writing instrument. Michael Dryden and his team need complimenting for their quality, reasonably priced products and their wonderful follow up service.
