I wasn't sure what to format the pen drives to. In the end I found that FAT32 is the only accepted format from a PC to android. And its best to keep the addition small. I have a 2TB external drive and that would have taken ages to load to gain access. So pendrives are fine. Largest I have is 16GB. Put 5 films on there. But the films must be converted with a video convertor that converts to Samsung or for Android. No other will be accepted that I had tried. I have a Samsung Galaxy A1 tablet. I found this information hard to find, so I had to do all the working out, so I hope it helps

Cheap enough but tried on multiple devices (to make sure!) and does not work at all :(
