Does this work on optical sensor smoke alarms?

I am very pleased with this product but I'm not sure if I can properly answer your question! I have two smoke alarms, one connected to the mains electricity and one which is battery and it works well when testing both!

Does this work on ionising smoke alarms?

This product is made to test smoke detectors that are used with a control panel. With stand alone smoke alarms, the type that are generally used in a house, you should just test by pressing the test button. Using this product can damage a stand alone smoke alarm.

Does it spray a visible ‘smoke’ or is it clear?

it is a clear spray and I spray from approx. 15 inches and a 2 second burst otherwise the sounder gets too much and sounds 2/3 times before clearing hope this helps. J.D.
