Will this be substantial enough to hold a spring loaded door open?

I am buying one to hold open my kitchen door, so I can go into the kitchen with my wheelchair - it is a fire door, so springs closed on me otherwise. I checked how heavy a weight would have to be to hold it open, and the answer is 6 tins of 400g dogfood, which is 2.4Kg - the same weight as the doorstop.

What filling is in this item

There is no opening to see what is inside but it feels like gravel and is quite heavy. It works a treat though and would recommend it. I use it for to stop the door getting banged against the wall.

Are these made to live outside?

The outer fabric is made of 95% polyester 5% cotton and the stuffing is 100% sand so I think you could probably use the doorstop outside but I wouldn't leave it out on a permanent basis.

What is the height excluding the handle please?

The height of the grey bit is only 15cm which is much smaller than I thought it was going to be.
