I'm a huge jerky fan! My favorites are Wild Bills n Uncle Mike's. Wild Bills is really soy n salty tasting n somewhat tough. Uncle Mike's is slightly more expensive, n chewy, but not many flavors that I've found. I really like the HOT one but my stomach n some other places (lmao) since I've gotten older tend to disagree! I like to make my own jerky n venison jerky. Also I can't stand this brown sugar n sugar most of these jerkies have. So, in stating all this, lets get down to business. I bought the garlic flavor of Barron Creek. I don't like that the bag come with air in it n not vaccumed out. Any jerky lover knows that u wanna keep ur jerky as airtight as possible when ur not eating it. 2nd u can definitely tell the meat is machine cut cause some pieces are thick n chewy n others are paper thin n hard. *I put my meat/venison in freezer, after trimming the fat, n let the meat get really cold yet not frozen. With a sharp good knife u can cut nice slices same size without the meat wiggling all around n making non uniform jerky.*3rd its kinda bland. I've never had to eat jerky over something to keep the, im guessing minced garlic, from gettin everywhere. 4th this jerky is very membranie n stringy. The thick pieces r better than the thin pieces except for the fact that I thing they use junk or bad parts of beef. I've bought several bags of Wild Bills n Uncle Mike's n NEVER found stringy membranie pieces n I buy the strips n pieces by the pound! This company is in Kentucky I believe. Seriously, they know they're not using the quality of meat needed for jerky! Understand that the better the meat the more expensive the jerky is probably gonna be. I like using the tenderloin the best but do ur research n there r couple other great/good pieces. I just wish I could find jerky as nice quality as my dad n I make. It's annoying going to a grocery store n there's a whole rack of like 15 different kinds of jerky n they all suck! To b honest it's cheaper n easy to make ur own. Plus u can personally make ur jerky spiced n marinated specifically to ur liking. The internet is a great thing nowadays! Use it! U can make great food if u just take the time to do a bit of research. I hope this helped out. Also, this is just my opinion, of coarse my wife loves it lmao! But she does say nothing comes close to mine. Unfortunately my father passed a few years back n I never got his recipe fir his venison jerky. I know he bought pre made jerky spices online cause I saw the boxes. Just don't know what or where he bought it from. But he didn't use the internet that much he was older n it was confusing to him lol. I enjoy cooking, curing, jerky, n smoking so when my brain says," I bet this would b really good with this ingredient or spice!" I try it n it's usually amazing!!

I am so happy with this company!! I have ordered, since November, 7 bags of their 1lb jerky, 2 of which are Jalapeno and 5 Cajun. This jerky is favored by me because I prefer a more "authentic" texture of dried meat. Like you would over a fire. It may be too dry for others, but my 8 yr old and I LOVE them. Any that are too soft when they come in I lay out to dry more. I like the really gentle spiciness. Just a little kick so you're getting the Jalapeno or Cajun taste without being in pain. I eat a lot of spicy food, but sometimes I like a milder version. We are die-hard fans!!!We did have a snafu with the first one. It came all "fake chewy-soft" like so many are today. For whatever reason it completely molded within a month. So gross. But I got an instant refund and I'm glad I gave them another try because we love this stuff!! Never had any of those problems again.

This review is primarily for the "Extreme fire" flavor variety. Some flavors may be the same in other varieties, don't know. I expect they are all similar in consistency and dryness.I rated it a 3 because of a couple things I don't like, but you may like those properties. For one, it is VERY dry, like almost crunch dry. I prefer tender jerky or at least a little moisture left in it. This was even kind of rough on the roof of my mouth. It is very hard to chew. Second, it has a bit of a pungent smell/taste that I didn't find pleasing. Kind of a skunky thing. Not spoiled or anything, just and odd smell and flavor that seemed kind of off to me.The heat level on this is very high. I order the hottest wings possible everywhere I go, and love habaneros. This had me sweating. That's neither good nor bad, just up to your personal heat preference. The chile flavors were very good though.

okay so heres my thinking , first the value is pretty decent under $30 a pound which is a good value in my eyes especially seeing as this is a specialty premium offering , second the spices used and the flavor of this is amazing , beat in mind the extreme fire is very very hot , im a person that eats hot sauce and sirracha on almost everything ,my only complaint and the only reason im revoving a star is that some peices are a bit on the tough side . if this has this flavor with slightly more tender peices this would be a five star product in my eyes .

This the worst beef jerkys I have ever had and trust me I have had alot. I am definitely a jerky lover. I have order a few other brands of jerky from amazon and loved them. I ordered the Cajun flavor I'm a big fan of spicy. Unfortunately all I could really taste was an overpowering salty soy sauce/steal .The jerky was extremely tough I mean to the point where it's barely even consumable. I took out one piece and after that I was done my mouth my jaw my teeth literally hurt because of how hard and how tough it is. I couldint even chew it just had to swallo the pice. maybe they sent me an old batch but I'm not sure. Why on earth would they be putting out a product like this. And to top it off you could tell it's definitely stale, bye the look, smell, and trying to chew it. I would compare this to the treats I give my dog. I'm hoping that maybe I just got a bad batch. I am very disappointed and upset that I did not receive the product that your company was representing. I hope the situation can be rectified or elts i will not be a returning customer.

I feel like I ordered this before and it was good but this time it was really super dry and old. I want to order it again to see if that bad pack was an anomaly, but I am scared to be disappointed again. I'll probably still do it anyway though. I feel bad about the bad review because i'm 80% sure I ordered from these guys on my buddy's account and it was great. I hope if i order from the amazon warehouse again, it wont just dig me one that's even older.*changing this from 1 star to 5 because i ordered again and did not experience the same fate.
