I'm liking it more and more!
Handy grommet punch. I have plenty of grommet setup installers. From bench to hand held but none of my dies are for "self piercing" groms. So I got this for my collection. The bad, the head is off center but when you squeeze it it pulls it on center. The spot weld that holds this alongment is so tiny that I will either wait until this weld breaks or just cut the weld then re weld IN PLACE to align it. I wish at least one side of the head would have been magnetic (I'm not sure I can msg. The head myself, but will try). The "squeeze" facter is high so it might impact tight spot use. I'll keep it , if nothing else you get 500 pelf piercing nic-plated grommets. These alone are the price of this deal... the tool is just a bonus. So the tool is the ADD on part of this deal.***UPDATE*** I apologize about the head not being magnetic it is and holds the furnished groms very good. The dies are wearing smoother but still off center. Over all, did pretty good. On 9mil poly tarp I did get some puckering2nd UPDATE... I've been using for awhile now and am thinking of a second batch of these "self piercing" grommets. I've started using the 1" wide "two sided tape" for FOLDING my edges on my tarps and that has ELIMINATED ALMOST ALL of the puckering! I'm really starting to Ike thiS grommet installer over my other hand grommet setters.

Meh, it doesn't cut thru nylon webbing at all. Disappointing.
This does not have the strength to cut thru two layers of nylon webbing which was the intended purpose. I have to use a hammer and bit to cut then use this to do the pieces, not sure it's worth it yet. So far, it saves me one wacks with a hammer but since I already have the hammer out it actually adds a step to insert the pieces into the press when I could just wack them. I will update after I work with it a few more times. I always give items a fair chance before I return them as faulty, I will update this review.Update: today I noticed I had an orange and black one and it should be yellow and black. They sent me a day deferent set than I ordered, the orange and black are not even the same company. I have emailed them, but I expect I will just request a refund, by the time this would get swapped I expect I will be done with the project I bought them for, and my handheld system works far better and looks far better. I have burned thru 50 of the ones supplied with the pliers and both are of low quality and are birtually unusable. My product is going to look horrible where I used this setup, which hurts my ability to sell it and basically wasted 15 hours of production time that I either have too eat or redo strictly due to the shoddy performance of this setup :-/ I will update once the seller responds

Stout and effective
Don't be a dumb-azz like me and miss that there is a top and bottom eyelet though. XD

Not quality tool or grommets.
This is very cheaply made; and definitely not even designed by a professional. Possibly thrown together to use up an existing inventory of parts? The separate dies don't line up, and there's no way to adjust them: they are bolted and screwed and welded together with each doing the exact same job, which is just bizarre. All the parts are very roughly made, with various edges and burrs and flaws. The Grommets also suck: they are extremely flimsy, and probably won't penetrate even light canvas. And the grommet washer is way, way narrower than the head side (head side what is shown in the amazon listing photos), and barely wide enough to keep the grommet on. These definitely won't hold up for a tarp under windy conditions when the tarp material stretches a bit. If you have a project where you need to fabricate with canvas, or even heavy woven poly tarp material, and you need it to last, get a stationary grommet press: they cost nearly the same and you'll get a much, much stronger grommeted hole that will take serious stress and impacts. If you absolutely need a hand held grommet press, get a quality one with adequate grommets, not this thing. This honestly has the fit and finish of a $1 Dollar Store pair of pliers.

It works well for the application I needed it for ...
It works well for the application I needed it for.Only wish it had a longer throat to reach farther in from the edge.On multiple layers, the grommets almost fail to cinch properly, so longer grommets would expand the usefulness of the product.

Hand held grommet machine. Finally!!!
If you don't own this, you should. I have made signs on the side for years and used pound in grommets. NEVER again. I would have paid 5 times more for this if I could have put my hands on it and used it. I have used it on billboard banner material folded 2 ply (even on a seam) and on corplast. It cuts right through and sets the grommet effortlessly. Buy this gadget. You will never regret.
