Pabobo Lumilove Barbapapa (Blue)

Seemed expensive at first but bought it to replace Shaun the Sheep which my 22 month old had managed to dismantle. Was disappointed at first to find that it didn't play music but I didn't stay that way for long. The Barbapapa has been a god send for getting my baby off to sleep. He is very difficult to settle and sometimes I would spend 3 hours trying to get him to go to bed. Since we bought Barbapapa 3 weeks ago, he has settled every night without trying to get out of his cot. I put him to bed with his Lumilove which he calls baby, and he turns over and cuddles in and goes straight to sleep. That is something that Shaun the Sheep never managed to achieve despite having a light and playing music. My son isn't really bothered about his baby through the day but certainly ad night it comes in very handy.

Perfect functionality. Rechargeable, good size, good battery life, only switches on when the child needs it and picks it up - perfect for my two who were waking in the night multiple times needing some reassurance, yet couldn't go to sleep properly with a nightlight on constantly. My only (minor) gripe is that it's very bright, even as it charges. I'd prefer a more dull glow, or perhaps an adjustable glow.

My daughter has had the Barbamama for a couple of years and adores it! My son has just asked for one so bought the Bapbapapa. This nightlight is cool to the touch so good to cuddle, big enough not to get lost under the covers and gives out just the right amount of light so as not to disturb sleep but to comfort if they wake up through the night. Fully portable. No wires. It simply sits loose during the day on its mains charger. The charge lasts all night and the light is easily switched on and off on the base of the actual light. I would highly recommend even at the quite high cost!

Writing this review nearly 3 years after buying the product.It has been the BEST nightlight we have had, simple, easy to use and charge, perfect light, and only now, 3 years on from daily child handling as the bulb (or whatever it works with) gone.We had a pink and a blue one, and the pink one is still going strong so only replacing the blue one.My 8 year old was very sad his "glowie" was no longer glowing ::(

Possibly because it is BPA phthalate-free...but not sure...the plastic of this Barbapapa' (I have the pink), has a very strange swirled effect within the plastic itself, visible only once it is turned on.I used to have a blue one, which was not BPA free, so I'm wondering if that is the reason.Doesn't detract from my daughter's immense pleasure in using it and works very well, but personally I find it rather ugly when it is turned on, unlike the old version which was very uniformly opaque.

Having a child who doesn't sleep is really hard but this light has really helped. Less battles going to bed and our little girl has nodded back off the first couple of times she wakes and I am sure it is down to the light letting her see enough not to be scared. She loves the little creature and thinks it is really magical. Would make a great gift for a newborn. A big hit in our home.

So easy to use once charged. My kids love their lumilove. Its not too bright that it will keep them awake and I don't have to worry about it staying in bed with them as it doesn't heat up, no wires attached and easy for the children to turn on and turn off themselves.

Nice design but light doesn't change colour unlike their other night lights
