The gel pads replacements is where they get you
So this is made of three basic components. The battery/controller, The electric pads and then the gel padsThe controller units are recharged using a Micro USB cable, they include one with 3 heads to make it so you can charge them all up at once. There are 19 power levels, and the manual suggests that you start at a low number and work your way upTo use it, you put these gel pads on the electric pad, then attach them to the part of your body you want to use it with. You need to use the gel pads, and they are basically one time use, so you need to buy new ones. I found some, about 50 pads for 12 bucks. That's something to keep in mind as an ongoing cost to using this.Once the electric pad is attached, you connect the controller in, it snaps into place like a button, the turn it on and set a power level and a time.It does something, there is a tingle of sorts for sure, but as far as turning my beer belly into a 6 pack, I'm skeptical.Overall it works, I wish it was designed in a way where instead of using gel pads, it could have some sort of fabric strap, so buying new pads wouldn't be needed.

It does something
I'm not sure if this ab stimulator is going to actually exercise any muscles to the point of substantial strengthening, but I can definitely say that it's doing....something. The instructions are basically the bare minimum as far as how to charge and turn on the disc units. There aren't any instructions on how to attach the gel pads correctly (I figured it out thru trial and error and wasting a few pads, but it happens) and there isn't any indication as to where you should place the devices. To be safe, I stuck a smaller one on my hip to test it out. When I turned it on and upped the intensity to 3, I started to feel a little tingling sensation. I upped it a couple more settings and can feel that it's doing something as I can feel a tingling feeling, I'm not sure if it's a muscle contraction or not since I'm not brave enough to raise the intensity any further just yet. I had to place an order for replacement pads in order to be able to use the bigger of the 3 pieces since I messed up a couple on the first few attempts. Once I get the replacement pads and figure out exactly where I should be placing them, I'll be able to use it with some consistency and will update my review after a few weeks of use if they work as described. The units do turn on and there's 100% something going on, I'm just not sure what at this time as it's too soon. One thing I can say for certain is to order additional gel pads if you order this product. You might end up like me and messing up a few, but even so, they'll only stay sticky for a few uses (especially if you sweat) and then you'll have to purchase additional ones anyway. Save yourself the time and buy extras when ordering.

Tolerance levels with device may vary
The media could not be loaded. First and foremost: CONSULT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL FIRST BEFORE USING A DEVICE LIKE THIS!So I tested the device first with the ab trainer. It was something...the shock levels were low and felt more like little pin pricks, but I could definitely tell it was electricity running through me. There are 8 different modes, depending on what part you want to try. I suggest starting at a higher than 3 setting as it will just feel like little shocks and won't get the muscle to engage. I got up to 14 on abs after about 10 mins sitting at about 11 or 12. The next time wasn't that easy. There was pain deeper in the ab muscle and I couldn't ignore it, and SHOULDN'T ignore it. I moved the device and discovered turning the clip on device the other direction would actually activate the other side of my abs better so I could switch back and forth between sessions. I actually built up sweat after 20 mins when it automatically shutdown. I did the same thing for legs, thighs were where I started and started lower at 4 and moved up to eventually 8 as it got the muscle to engage better. Some things to note: the device triggers from one side of the pad primarily and if you rotate it upside down it will trigger the other side to balance out the impulses. Putting pressure on the pads will actually help minimize the sting from shocks because there is better contact with the skin. With a TENS muscle device I have used for my neck muscles for a while, I noticed if I lightly wet my neck it has better connection and the impulse goes into the muscle better without pain on the surface of the skin.I had no soreness the next day, even after a rigorous test. I will continue to use it and see if it improves anything. Water will deteriorate the pads faster though, so be careful how much you do it. As always, CONSULT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL FIRST BEFORE USING A DEVICE LIKE THIS! And I do not think you can use with any type of internally placed medical devices as it may cause issues. I'm happy to try it in various configurations and see what happens with relaxing and massaging muscles.

battery life, my a$$
This is one of my weirder purchases, but I thought "why not give it a try". Well it is definitely doing something when I attach it. I have no clue who is going to the level-18 because I am hurting when its at a 5 - lol. But it's definitely doing something. what that something is, idk. I guess flexing my muscles? I definitely can feel it & I had no problems getting it to stick. My annoyance is at the supposed "battery life". I even charged all 3 batteries you're given overnight & still, none of the 3 lasted longer than 10 minutes before dying - with it at the 5 setting! If the recommendation is 30 minutes, I can barely even get to that when cycling through all 3 batteries. So more or less, one can make the assumption that its useless when it can't power long enough for the recommended minimum use time. a shame!
