No more wasps in our garden now- seriously. They actually work.
We had wasps in our garden every year, and recently there were enormous hornets. My daughter has a wasp phobia and they kept getting in the house. Unbelievably, these actually worked. We sprayed them with shoe protector as someone reccommended- for weather. We have two hanging on the patio, in front of the garden door. It may help that they are slightly sheltered from rain though they get it from the side. So far they are fully intact (a couple months I think) and we literally have not seen a single wasp. It's been astonishing- I never used to think these would work and tried other things to no avail. I came on here specifically to give this review as I htink epople ought to know how effective they are. The instructions do say put up by the end of March I think because by then wasps may have made their nests and be less easy to ward off from the area. We put our up a month or two late and still have been successful.

This does deter wasps
I recommend you try this product. I hung one on my terrace to deter wasps from coming to munch on my oak patio furniture, to make their nests with. We get loads and I've nearly sat on one so many times, it was impossible to relax. It had an instant effect and I've hardly seen a wasp since I put it up. I'm also going to put one in my bedroom window in the hope it'll deter hornets from flying in during the night. It would be great if they could be made out of waterproof material but the paper is stronger than it looks, and at this price it's not unreasonable to replace it every year, in my view. I'm going to try the waterproof shoe spray that another reviewer recommended - good idea!

They seem to work well
I spread them with waterproof shoe spray, and although they are paper and seem flimsy, they hold up really well.

Fab!
I've bought fake wasp nests for the last couple of years and wouldn't be without them as I'm petrified of wasps. You need to put them up the beginning of March when spring is on its way. This is when the Quen wasp will begin to come out of hibernation and start to look for suitable places to start her nest and start laying her eggs. Wasps are territorial and won't build near an already established nest, so this will help to prevent nests being built near your home and later, during summer will deter wasps from making a nuisance of themselves in your garden. If you put them up later and a nest is already built nearby they don't work! The only time I have seen wasps is around September/October time when they are looking for food and are starting to die off. But by then usually im not sitting in my garden as much anyway. The trick is to make sure you put them out beginning of spring and under some form of cover if possible, near to most problem areas. I put one in my tree at bottom of garden near my shed, one under guttering out front and one near my conservatory. I always have spares to replace if required and have found them to be a great summer solution to sitting out in the sunshine in peace!

Great. No wasps in my garden.
I have left these in the garden for weeks seen no wasps but they have lost there colour and ended up a lovely shade of pale blue but still doing the job. I still have 1 left so I will put that out when the others have disintegrated due to our English weather.

Nice as a temporary decoration, but no real use
Bought for my mum as she asked me to get them, as she said her friend swears by them. Not sure why, as my mum's lived in her house for 30 years and there's never been a wasps nest in the garden, but good children do as they're asked. Quite easy to put together, but they seem quite flimsy which should really be a warning. Lasted a couple of weeks, then split apart in the first bit of windy/rainy weather we had and it's now barely holding itself together. No wasps were sighted after putting it up, but then, there were no wasps before it went up either. And there are still no wasps now, so the misshapen Pac-Man-like remnants of the decoy seem to be just as effective as the intact product. Two stars, but only because it looked like a nice lantern for a few weeks.

Fantastic value amazing product
My husband is allergic to wasp stings and just one could kill him but these fake nests are life changing. We have tried all Manor of deterents over the years but nothing ever seemed to work long term, until we tried these about 5 years ago. We now have one hanging on our patio and one further down the garden every year. I keep the 3rd as a back up if the others get broken. If not used it is stored ready to be pulled out at the start of the next season while I order a new pack. Whilst these won't stop 100% of wasps visiting your garden they will significantly reduce it. My husband now feels confident enough to enjoy the garden and even fall asleep in the chair.
