I'll admit, I am am Art Collins fanboy. I love hearing his trading stories and anecdotes (plenty of them in this book), and I love his trading ideas (again, plenty in this book).Packed with both plain English rules and Tradestation Easy Language rules, Art covers all the bases with this Almanac. I will busy for a while testing his approaches on various markets.If you need some trading ideas to test, if you want some already tested ideas, or if you want some trading stories, this book delivers.

Great book, I got a lot of interesting ideas, But... commissions and slippage are not included, some of the strategies, especially very short term ones will become unprofitable. Yes, if you test without them, I am getting positive upward slopping equity curves, but as soon as you add commissions and slippage, your equity curve turns by 180, into negative.

This may be the best one-stop-shop trading book I’ve read. You get turnkey trading systems with accompanying performance summaries, simple English on how to set them up for your own use, and TradeStation code. From clear how-to walkthroughs to transparent performance summary proofs, Collins holds nothing back. My only minor complaint is that some systems are too close in concept to others. Some though, are pretty startling considering their ease of use. And I like the essays even better. Lots of advice for avoiding pitfalls and staying true to your programs (and yourself). Plus some entertaining personal stories and thought-provoking anecdotes.

This book contains over 30 back-tested systems, with straight-forward written explanations of the exact rules and the accompanying TradeStation system code. There are a lot of great ideas to build my own systems, with different time frames and different holding periods. I particularly like the systems that trade at unconventional times, like before or after work.
